Makes me think that, technically, it could reach 6700XT levels (given enough tweaking). Very technically, though lol. Guess it's not as clear cut as the 5700/5700XT situation, at least driver-wise.
For sure.
12k low end side for xt. 13k, average and 14k probably upper score for 6700 xt.

Tweaked mine out to a final of 13.1k points TimeSpy.

That's funny. If I make it draw 200W it does something stupid like 65C edge 99C hotspot tho lol

Edge temperature barely increases but hotspot goes to hell. Issue seems to be case airflow, though. Removing the side panel drops hotspot temps 10C when gaming. I wonder why the edge temps don't move, tho lol.

I realized the top exhaust is chilling at 600RPM while gaming, because CPU temp doesn't go over 55C. Ugh.
That's weird. My card also has hotspot around the 100-105 °C mark, but edge is in the 80s as well. Case temp doesn't do much with it, either, as it just drops fan speed to maintain the same temperature. I could set up a custom curve, but it only shaves off a couple of degrees at the cost of much more noise, so there's no point.

I have my case fans controlled by "system temp" (whatever that means). As the GPU dumps its heat into the case and the system slowly heats up, my case fans start to spin faster. With an AIO on my CPU, the biggest heat source is my GPU by far, so controlling case fans by CPU temp would only mean unnecessary ramp-ups and down with no actual cooling.

It's about 10% behind the XT, which makes sense considering it has 10% fewer cores. Not bad. :)

If I remove the side panel I end up with 57C edge, 78C hotspot. Seems like with the top fan spinning at 1100RPM (instead of 610 lol) it drops to 82C hotspot, same edge temp.
Trying to run higher than 170W makes hotspot rise but edge stays at around 65~66C max.

At 200W I recorded 66C edge, 97C hotspot lol.

Sadly in games it doesn't do "10% behind the XT" :(. I'mma blame drivers. In a bunch of games it performs similar to 6650XT, which has 200 SP less and like 50GB/s less mem bw lmao. In some other games (ex. Borderlands 3), it performs accordingly.

I am in the club! Gigabyte Gaming OC 6750 XT. Very nice card but it does get loud when it is playing games near 4K resolution.

Speaking of, is anyone using Radeon Super Resolution ? It seems to work I guess...

Edit: What is the best way to adjust the fan curve on this? I swear it goes from chill out to full blast when heat hits like 80 degrees...

Congrats and welcome! :)

I've tried it once, but changing resolutions messes up the window positions on my secondary screen, so I tend not to. A good in-game AA implementation can achieve fairly similar results anyway.

That's strange. How can it do differently in benchmarks and games? :(

You can have funny stuff like
1677269413541.png

Or just minimal gains. Though on bench (high) now I get about 87fps. Probably drivers optimizations.

How is that possible? o_O You can't even say it's a VRAM limitation, because the 6650 XT has 8 GB, your card has 10.
Drivers, I'd guess. The RX 6700 was originally a mining exclusive card. On RDR2 I get considerably higher performance than he records, but that bench was around 8 months ago.

Has anyone noticed this between two Windows versions:

For example:

I often see Windows 10 like: 157.6 FPS max. 128 FPS min.

Windows 11: 156.8 FPS max. 129 FPS min.

And thus the FPS often seem more consistent in 11.

After fixing my airflow (also called just make the exhaust fans actually run at 1000RPM instead of 600RPM) I dropped hotspot temp by ~9C. Ugh, should've noticed earlier.

RDR2 screenshots don't work! so here's a picture :p

I'm joining !
With an Gigabyte 6750XT Elite something ...
The 6800 / XT are still a bit expensive here, so go for an 6750 XT.
I'm planing 3440x1440 / 60Hz, that's should do it (even my old 6600 XT could do it, i'm a bit late with recent games so ...)

I agree, even an RX 6600 XT at stock, should spank an RX 5600 XT with a VBIOS mod!

OTOH, even an RX 5600 XT should be enough for 4K/UHD @ 60 FPS in Halo PC MCC.

I found the 6600XT is really underated to be honest...

It's weird, though, because the 6650 XT is currently cheaper than the 6600 at Scan UK. The problem with the 6600 XT is that it disappeared ever since the 6650 XT is available.

The 6600XT had a 5700XT performance, but it didn't have a 5600XT price at launch, instead it had the price tag of the 5700XT. This is why it never got good reviews.
Ofc similar things can be said of all GPU launches during the same periods ^^

Also, the non-XT was a lot cheaper with nearly the same performance. I'm not sure if it's a better value now, but it was at launch.

Is there a very-low-watt-limit on 6600 non-XT? Like GTX 1660 series? (GTX 1660 series are limited to 125W at default and with the power slider maxed out, you're lucky to get 130W-135W (135W is a maybe) )

Good question. I've tried several RDNA 2 cards by now, but not a 6600-series one.

You can use the include fan curve editor in adrenalin, it's in the performance tab. But note that you need to completely uninstall MSI Afterburner or it will cause conflict with adrenalin.
Then do some test, it really depend on what you can tolerate and your physical configuration (on desk or on the ground, the model of the case, etc ...)

Made an small video on HW Legacy since idk if anyone has showed how it runs on a 6700 (at 1440p that being):

TL;DW: Rather well. VRAM is constantly maxed out, but it doesn't show on the overlay bc HWInfo shows something silly like 50GB of VRAM used, lol. Actual usage is about ~9800MB.
Recording takes up to ~5fps in game. It was recorded at 1440p@60fps, but processing do be taking eons.

Benchmark Scores bench ? no time to lose with bench ! :)
My sister plays it with an Ryzen 5600 and a 6600 XT
The game configure itself in rather low territory but runs perfectly in 3440x1440 - 60 Hz ... and it's relly looking good, even in low !
It's a bit conservative in the settings, because i've tweaked them in the medium territory, and it's still rund good :)
