Radeon VII Priced 739€ in the EU, France and Spain Only Have Dozens of Cards

That's the thing, i honestly don't see this card actually beating the 2080. It's going to use more power, put more heat into your case (and subsequently into your room) and give 5-10% less performance in most games. Barring the few outliers where GCN has historically done really well in, obviously. 16GB is nice to have but not an absolute deal breaker on the 2080 only having 8. Oh and the 2080 also gives you RTX.

I am being harsh on the VII but I honestly don't see the value. I am almost certain they will sell out with just this few cards, because there's AT LEAST that many enthusiasts who only need it to be the fastest Radeon on the planet to have an excuse to buy it :p (Like me, if i wasn't broke xD)

Actually, since i swapped out my FX 8320 @ 4.8Ghz for a Ryzen 7 2700x i need to have something to heat up my working room again. It's getting pretty cold now lol when playing games here.

And people say RTX availability is bad...

It's a PR stunt card, just to say they're alive in this segment, nothing more.

Pretty much, with Vega 64 now competing with a 2060 they needed to show something.

As for the low number of cards... poor yields? Pathetic profits margins have been suggested too? Who knows, either way the cards will all be sold by tomorrow so I guess that is a win!

Cheapest with crap coolers , no thanks
...and what is this? The cheapest card with stock cooling... AIB cards wont be any cheaper. This isnt new.

Why keep posting same content of previous article?
because hits... more articles...more hits.

Hell, they didnt even recall the asus GPU tweak smear article that was proven false to keep the hits rolling in. Wondering if asus legal will call them and other sites out...lol

The card carries 60CU's instead of the traditional 64 or 56 in that matter. So yeah these are chips that did not pass the MI60/50 professional cards. Compute is stripped for professional use as well making it a good gamer card alternative. Ah well who cares. I'm pretty sure the VII will be head to head with a 2080 and proberly offers some OC'ing room as well.

So, no competition from AMD yet again.

Well numbers from review guide is probably leaked here:
https://www.hd-tecnologia.com/exclusiva-asi-rinde-la-radeon-vii-vs-la-rtx-2080-en-1440p-y-4k/

In short RTX 2080 is overall 1% faster in 4k and 3% faster in 1440p.

in reply to the name of the post/threat : its because ngreedia bought most of them for AI research, for them to come up (the AI that is) with the next non original generation name of ngreedia hinting at history while bringing next to no new stuff to the table . my 2cents are on the buzz, ie 1 up one down.

I love the comp between AMD and Nvidia , and Intel , also the difference
is so marginal for a regular gamer / pc user for myself , the news especially is so cool for debate Too

its bringing real competition to a almost stale Hardware Junk section for me ….. just my opinion :)

aka robo Hardware Junky lol

What is this clickbait?! We are looking at low stock on a brand new GPU on a new node? My oh my, what a surprise

Collector's edition since it's launch, I guess.

Meaning they can price it for $2000 or more each and you may say but why would they buy this instead of 2080ti, I'd say, stupid people are a great part of our society. $2000 is the target goal for high end products it seems, funny amd prices it $699 but nobody find it at that price, you might find it for $2000 or more on ebay.

Still tempted to try and buy one tomorrow, this low stock unicorn can make me some dosh!

Think back about the early Vega days, boys. This isn't any different.... and it even isn't much different from Nvidia's RTX launch. We've had low stock or no stock of cards from launch up to 1-2 months after that. Especially the 2080ti flagship... and that's on a much easier node, too.

You could post another article like this for the coming month on a daily basis, it still doesn't tell us much.

Those crap coolers are probably better than AMD stock ones.

The Ventus has excellent coolers, almost inaudible.

Anyone putting MSI and "cheap coolers" in the same sentence is probably high or drunk

Yeah the guy seem clueless.

Can anyone please decipher this word salad?

MUCH more faster in DLSS enabled titles. And DLSS is the way to go forward.

Number of games that have it ? Is it non zero ?

How can you say it's the way to go forward if you've never seen it in an actual game.

All technologies are the way forward until they're not. Like Vulkan and DX12.

Oh, I remember in the days of Fury when we were told all games will become DX12. Still, 3 years on? Hasn't really happened. This is Nvidia's turn at predicting the gaming future.

Frankly, I have no idea....

Except Vulkan and DX12 did make it's way into some games. And unlike DLSS those were backed by many major contributors from the industry not just one.

For now, all I see are canned benchmarks and performance slides from Nvidia (for what exactly only they know) whenever they launch something new.

DLSS requires AI (allegedly) learning. They technically can't release it immediately. But RTRT is already in a few games, or one.

Regardless, point is, new tech needs time, just like Mantle (ahem) did. And other point was, I don't know if it's the way things will go.

As an aside, isn't anyone getting pissed off, AMD NDA for reviews must be tied to actual release time? Pretty sure Nvidia got slated for just that for RTX release.

Apparently, there are only 20 cards allocated to France and Spain, each.
I'm not going to believe this at all unless AMD confirms it. It would be very inefficient financially and extremely resource inefficient to make/distribute so few cards. AMD is not so foolish as to release in such low numbers.

This is not news, it's rumormill nonsense and TPU is better than this. @btarunr @W1zzard Why is this article being posted? And IF(big if) it is true, where are the citations? I'm calling you all out on this because it's complete rubbish.

AMD won't divulge their inventory stream. However, it's very feasible there are low inventory levels. The card is arguably a barely break even, PR product. Remember, 16GB of HBM2 is not cheap.

ftfy? :)

There's more dx12 titles than vulkan and ha had more adaptation. I recall fury tauting vulkan, not dx12.
