Ninja'd again! Good video!
Quite surprised by that it was capable of doing 120 frames per seconds back then let alone gtx 750 ti can't maintain 120 only a mealy 60 or less

It alive from the dead BFG 8600GTS 256mb. Didn't think it would survive with the mess it came from the house fire back in October 2021 after giving it a good cleaning and making it look good as it can be.
As well on start up the fan goes to 100% which makes it noisy but it calm down once the driver is loaded not as noisy as I first remembered as it idling at 30% at 40c whisper quiet to my ears :)
Even changed pcie slots to check and it fully working even topped out at 60c fan at 30% at full screen testing with gpu-z for a half hour. No crashing or weird issues

The big problem with 3Dfx was that they didn't want to support 32-bit color depths -- and Nvidia made a big deal out of that (back when they were still relative upstart nobodies in the GPU game).

I forced the W5700 driver to the card, but it is not working. Still searching for drivers.
It is very hard to cool the card without drivers because there is no power saving (and two 5700xt at high clocks can make a lot of heat). It overheats and beeps after a few minutes. I build a ghetto cooling with two 8cm P8 high pressure fans and two 12cm fans but that is not enough. So I have only a few minutes for driver testing.

I'll bet that Radeon Pro was outrageously expensive back in the day. Can you do crossfire with that Radeo Pro v540? It would be gr8 to see some benches of that card w/some modern, non-VRAM limited games.

It is not a released card. Crossfire not supported on navi10-12 but it can do dx12mgpu so 3dmark (timespy i think) can work with two gpu and also a few games that support multigpu. (two rx5700xt HBM2 can beat RTX3070ti-3080 in timespy i think)
I think it is faster than an average RX5700XT because of the HBM2 memory. (it was 230 USD)
https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-pro-v540.c4133
It has 2560 cores not 2304, but i dont know the default clocks because i dont have driver for the card. And it need some better cooling, ~330w EPS and 75w from PCIE so i think it is a ~350w TDP card. I don't think that 2x8gb vram can limit much on FullHD gaming, i dont have 4k display.

It's likely in the same boat as the Instinct cards, only working in linux. Except it has no publicly available drivers at all unlike the Instinct's.

You can maybe try this? No clue if it'll do anything.

I always wanted a Radeon Pro Duo, but could never afford one until recently, money has been tight for me for that long.

I cant download on that site, only inside an amazon virtual machine can download that driver. I think i ask AMD support, i hope they can help for the drivers.
btw I had a lot of enterprise cards (pro duo, 9300x2, a lot of tesla and grid cards), all of them have windows drivers. Like Instinct Mi8 (Radeon Fury Nano)

There is a few dual GPU cards.
Pro Duo
9300 X2
Pro duo Polaris
Dual Vega cards, V340, Dual Vega VII for mac

I found something, device id is AMD7360.1 = "AMD Radeon Pro 5600M" (it is in a macbook pro) So i will try that driver. It is for bootcamp (windows on apple devices).
https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/apple-boot-camp

good news:
mylipho15 from Amernime custom driver developer started making a driver for the card. (possible modify the Mac 5600M version)

Almost 1 year passed, I did it) One .rom copy I made using nvflash and second one by GPUz.

Ha GPU-Z is very confused by that. Surprised that's the case, honestly. Thanks for the upload!

These are from AWS servers from 2019/20. A seller on eBay popped up with hundreds of them for sale all QS models but otherwise finished. The V in V540 is for Virtual since all of the Radeon Pro V series are for virtual machines cloud computing, and only have host drivers for specific operating systems that then interface a guest driver on a Windows or Linux VM.

Navi12 dual gpu. It is like RX5700XT with HBM2 (2x8Gb)

Navi12 and Navi10 are quite different under the hood. Also AMD's more recent samples are not getting Windows drivers until launch. The Radeon Pro V420 was also lacking drivers but thankfully could work enough on Radeon Pro VII drivers.

Yeah I tried one of my modded Bootcamp drivers from my Macbook and it does install on the V540, but it doesn't do much more than that. The card still appears invisible to just about everything. I had asked in the Anermine chat about having a driver made a few months ago and they've been working on it for a little bit now. Since there are so many of these cards out in people's hands now it makes sense to build a working driver for it.

AMD used Hitachi graphite thermal pads on the GPUs. On mine there was an entire corner of the second GPU not making contact. I was able to keep the card cool with a single 92mm ducted to the back pulling air through once I removed those pads. They're good thermal pads but they either don't have enough mounting pressure or are too thin for this application.

You just remove the gpu pads and addig new pads or thermal pase?
I think that pci memory controller is the pcie switch chip on the card. When I forced the w5700 driver that is installed as amd upstream or dowstream pcie switch or something.
PCI\VEN_11F8&DEV_4052&SUBSYS_405211F8&REV_00\4&31024D2F&0&0118

And also the uefi part on the bios is missing.

I uploaded the bios
https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/257262/257262

The v520 is the one gpu version but there is a mining edition bc-160 and that is navi12.

Wait... There was Navi w/ HBM?
I don't even need a dual-GPU variant; I'd adore having a Navi w/ HBM2 to add into my collection, along w/ my flashed MI25.

Now, how to get my hands on a BC-160 and a vBIOS w/ Display-out? (darn. only 8GB HBM2, though.)

edit: If that modified Pro 5600M driver ends up working, I might have to spend the ~$150 to get a V540. Even if it has to go into a Linux box or hackintosh, Navi+HBM2 is just too tantalizing.

What did you flash the MI25 for?

If it helps at all I bought one. I was eyeing it for a while but hadn't seen much about it and wasn't sure what I'd do with it but seeing as multiple were available for that little money I jumped on it. I do question the listing details a little but but either way it's on the way. My workstation has enough airflow in just the right way to potentially cool it without a mounted fan to it with duct but just having it to have it would be fine.

I flashed it to a WX9100 to be able to get display output in Windows. It's my Daily Driver GPU; replacing an 8GB Vega64.

I bought my MI25 from that seller. :)
The title details might be right, and it's a weird example; or the seller may have purposely mis-listed it not to 'harm' the sellers asking over $1k for similar cards.

Neat, was unaware that flashing it to such was compatible. I wonder what the result would be if you flashed the v320 to that since it already half reports as an MI25 with half the ram. Wouldn't work on Windows though so don't do that unless you have a spare.

I'll update everyone on what arrives from that seller for the v540. The listing images show exactly what masterdeejay got as far as the sticker labeling goes. It's a bit hard to see given the crispy image quality but it does match. This obviously may not be the same as whatever is on the way but I'm more on the side of it being mislabeled.

:D

Good luck! If the V540 works and is a 2x8GB 2xNaviGL card, I might have to pick one up in June. (I just tried to Best Offer that seller on another MI25 for crossfire WX9100s; I'm thankful he declined my lowball. I want that dual Navi, if it'll work in Windows or Linux, lol)
Here's my card, if you want inspiration on cooling.

I removed the factory MI25 shroud, and made my own. The Aluminum tape 'shroud' was chosen for a couple silly reasons and 1 good reason.

Good:
-It's impermeable and 'forms' where set. Meaning (unlike 'duct/duck' tape), it doesn't 'inflate' when pressurized, and it'll be less likely to de-adhere and decompose w/ heating-cooling cycles (and dust accumulation).

Silly:
-The aluminum is a good IR reflector, and (at least in my mind) helps concentrate the radiant heat into the exhausted airstream.
-I assume the aluminum tape has some kind of effect on EMI/RFI. (For all I know in actuality, I just made a very messy antenna; doing the opposite of 'helping EMI'. Basically, I gave my 16GB Vega a literal (figurative) "Tinfoil Hat".)

Nice work but I dont want to take stuff like this apart too much. Was thinking about printing this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5929232 and calling it a day. I have a P520 and the fan placement is just right but the fan's blowing power might not be sufficient so its mainly a matter of whether I'll use it or not. Personally I wish a more appropriate solution was on the table for this kind of thing outside of datacenter server racks.

Only disassembly I did was taking the factory shroud off. Which, were all easily-accessed external screws. I haven't even bothered taking the heatsink off and replacing the stock TIM.

If I had a 3D printer, I'd have gone something akin to your route. -would've used the old shroud as a template, and replaced the metal shroud w/ a printed one, adding a mount for a high static pressure fan.

On the simpler-side, there are 'off-the-shelf' options (from DIYers w/ 3D printers) on eBay.
However, most of those 'end-mounted airguides' either offer too little airflow (2x 4x3.8cm axial blowers are too weak, or 2x 4x7.6cm axial blowers too noisy.
The 9cm-12cm air guides take up way too much space for most typical desktop/workstation chassis, and any less than a 3.8cm thick axial fan, (typically) cannot develop enough static pressure to effectively cool the dense finstack.

There are centrifugal fans (squirrel cage) which would keep the card skinny and long, while addressing the issues w/ static pressure.
Since drawings are availible for most 'server' and 'industrial' DC blowers, one could try and find something used that might work well, then check the datasheet and drawings before purchasing.

I only used the fan I did, the way I did, because it was the most powerful and highest pressure PWM fan that I'd salvaged over the years.
In other words: Because, I fancy myself a crafty cheapskate :p
