Razer Reveals 'Project Fiona' PC Gaming Tablet at CES

Razer, the world leader in high performance gaming hardware, is proud to announce their newest gaming concept design - the Project Fiona PC Gaming Tablet. Unlike other tablets designed for general use and casual gaming, Project Fiona is a tablet concept designed to play the most popular PC games of today with an intuitive control setup for a phenomenal on-the-go gaming experience.





Powered by Intel Core i7

Razer worked closely with Intel to harness the power of its third generation Intel Core i7 processor in Project Fiona. As a result, Razer's tablet is more akin to a fully functioning PC; and yet in a form factor and platform highly familiar to everybody.

Instead of relying on developers to work on a suite of brand new applications for Project Fiona, many PC games today run natively on the tablet concept without the need to be ported, optimized, or developed from scratch.



Moreover, Project Fiona will feature one of the most powerful processors integrated in a tablet form factor. Instead of the casual and mobile-only games that run on under-powered tablets, Project Fiona will run full-fledged PC games that have never run on a tablet form factor before until today.

Razer's multi-award winning user interface and ergonomics team have developed an all-new hybrid user interface scheme for Project Fiona. Featuring integrated dual game controllers with ultra-precise analog sticks, Project Fiona runs gamepad-enabled PC games right out of the box.

Along with the game controllers, Project Fiona is also designed with ultra-precise accelerometers and a highly sensitive multi-touch screen. This provides game developers with new game experiential opportunities to develop around the hybrid game control experience offered by Project Fiona. It also ensures current-generation PC games run on the tablet concept, as well as any existing games optimized for the touchscreen interface of a tablet.

Future games developed for Fiona are expected to take advantage of not just the integrated gamepad controls but also integrate core game functionality controls for the touchscreen and accelerometer-based controls.

Ya no, for a 1000 bucks i'll sit in front of my PC and enjoy full fledged PC games and everything else a real pc can do on a 23 inch screen.

I don't get it you "sell top of the line" pc mice and keyboards because you know PC gamers love M/KB and then you make a 1000 pc with no Mouse and Keyboard.
Its cool but so is the thing that solves Rubrics cubes with Lego's and a phone that also serves no purpose.

Not necessarily detailed. Still pretty ambiguous but even the low end mobile i7's aren't that bad. Even if assuming Intel IGP, it would be quite capable at 1280x800.

No, just no. Stop wasting money on something that doesn't work. I would rather have a 3 axis goggles/helmet that has a backpack containing the hardware and motion sensing for your hands and environment for feedback than try to lug this around so you can try and play a game on a shiny reflective screen outside for the 30 minutes of battery life.

1280x800 is very decent (~150 PPI) for a 10.1 INCH screen, though IPAD3 rumored retina display might blow it out of the water. Still though, that is better pixel density than typical PC displays.

I think they have something there, as an accessory for the iPad 2. It could be used for the Parrot AR Drone that requires an IPhone or iPad for it's operation. I think the thumb controllers are too high and need to be brought down on the handles some. You want your hands below the center of the screen for viewing, not above it.
