download easybcd(google it) under advanced u can enable the use of unsigned drivers, u will still be asked if your sure you want to install them but after that they work just like normal drivers.

the problems that many people having are not the fault of the drivers, its the fault of creatives drivers, meaning we have to move to editing the creative drivers

many of the incompatiblities with vista lie in creatives drivers disabling most of the features you would find in XP.

there are some "goodies" in there if you know what i mean ^^, If we wanted too we could get add windows NT support too.

i just lost the sound effect tab in realtek sound manager of course uninstall it and reinstall it but no change still don't have sound effect tab and 3d demo tab ..... ??

I had the same problem. I tried to... nvm what i tried to do, but i ended winth no 3D sound, EAX, and Creative software stoped working. Format c:\ helped with Realtek drivers, but i still cant use Creative stuff. Its wierd, cuz i tried instaling it after format, without internet connection...

I got the driver to install, and the software in vista 32. Just can't seem to get it working, the software that is. My x-fi mb is not supported. Any ideas?

in the SETUP folders they are in the support.cab's

but I wonder what would happen if the vista software was forced to run on xp and vice-versa

Your looking at the Gigabyte X-Fi software right? I opened one of the cab files and this is all there is..

This is pretty sweet but I waiting for someone to force the ATI HDMI audio to support 5.1 for gaming and windows audio not just video play back.

2. those sound cards are 2 channel only, without real time encoding - and they lack that hardware. HDMI will never support 5.1 gaming without an encoder card - ever

also probbly against HDCP specs for one reasion or another, DRM saves the day again!!!!

and it should be POSSIBLE as i understand it the encoding on cmedia and onboard solutions is done in software not hardware.

no there is definately hardware involved. My auzentech X-mystique uses the same chipset as an X-plosion and HTOmega striker 7.1, yet even tho i've modded their drivers to install on my card i still dont get DTS encoding, which is supported on both of those cards but not mine.

There is definately a hardware *and* software component to it. One good example: My auzen and my ATI HDMI are both only capable of 16 bit, 44/48Khz while my realtek with DTS encoding can do 24 bit 96KHz - there are bitrate limitations that prevent DTS encoding on my card, regardless of what software can do.

could easly be the driver detecting your chip as not being the revision it wants(weather its got the same hardware inside or not) and then auto dissabling said features, seen that b4, also seen people mod around it, takes alot of knowhow and time though, to much effort for me.

I was hoping they had the full software on the dell site can't find it so far.
