Could be unstable CO resulting in performance degredation.

I tried CO -20 and it gave higher FPS than CO -30, but nowhere near CO disabled.

I didn't have any crash with CO -30, but yeah seems like stock core voltage is best, particularly with Core boost disabled.

I tested on my own 13700K + 4090 + 7200MT Tuned DDR5 Rig and the result is comparable to 7800X3D with Core Boost disabled, crazy.

What are the recommended voltage settings for 7800X3D running 2x16GB 60000Cas36 G.Skill? I will set for best thermals possible.
Personally, I would have looked into this BEFORE I built the rig, but hey, that's just me :D

And FYI, I build high-end rigs for a living (avg 20/yr), so I do all necessary research ahead of time, that way I can use my time more efficiently and get them to my clients sooner, which is GREAT for business....

First, XMP will give you nothing, default when ON my MB sets SoC to 1.25+ that i can set to 1.10*** or 1.09*** stable, it's a lot diff,... keep OFF

Secondly, CPU Boost OFF looks good for temp and watts btw, bu t i will have to set it ON back for some games tho (idk since CP2077 don't react to Boost ON/OFF, same behaving).

Well the 7800X3D is the best option for SFF, didn't need much research for that :D. I'm more familiar with Intel platform than AMD so I appreciate some pointers. Normally I would have gone Intel on this build but the recent fiasco turned my attention to 7800X3D.

Looks like I was right too, heck the 7800X3D is just plug and play, no fiddling necessary

Do you have stuttering festy games, like Hogwart or Jedi 2... ? (sorry, all are all crappy but... :p )

Just to know if you notice less stutter with x3d !

I gave away my testing station (spare monitor+keyboard+mouse) as part of house cleaning haha. So now I will have to take out my own heavy rig if I want to test my pal's rig.

I will test Hogwarts on my pal's rig tomorrow. I did have a sneaking suspicion that using aggressive CO will lower the performance of 7800X3D (also cause stuttering), without it crashing.

I still recommend basic ram-tuning :) Raising tREFI to 50000 and lowering tRFC (the latter if you have Hynix) can boost certain games and apps by over 10%. My geekbench 6 went up over 1000 points foing this :)

Why not max trefi? Isn't 65535 the max on the ryzen chips?

EG1. Considering it's an SFF build it's better to run trefi halved, at 32k or something, giving some room for the ram to breathe

50k is fine. It's 65535 that can be temp sensitive and need cooling.

Yup 50k tREF looks good, gives 1.2% higher FPS in CB2077 benchmark.
65535 definite is temps sensitive and cause instability after long gaming session.

Thanks, 50k tREF works, lowering tRFC from stock 884 cause boot failure, probably require higher VDD voltages

Only 1.2%? Lol, 3d chips don't care about the ram do they?

Yeah, HUB tested 6000Cas30 vs 5200Cas40 and it only improve by 4% on the 7800X3D

That explains why tuned ram intel is as fast.

Would you be up for a friendly competion? Stock 12900k tuned ram vs stock 7800x 3d tuned ram?

How low did you go though, on tRFC? Going down to 450 at 6000 (150ns) was a one-click affair. I'm running overnight stable on below-XMP voltages (1.30/1.25V on the VDDs). Not exactly a golden kit, just pretty average so far on VDD

Even 700tRFC and it fail to boot, this is with SoC voltage at 1.1V, let me try 1.2V SoC.

VSOC won't affect tRFC. Think of it like VCCSA.

You want your VSOC as low as stable possible, because you want to raise your FCLK for better performance as well, even if 2000FCLK is the stock recommendation. High VSOC can make running higher FCLK harder to stabilize

You probably have Samsung or Micron ram. You can lower primaeries. If Samsung (6000c36-36-36 is usually Samsung) they can probably run 34-34-34 with ease :) Running rdwr at 16-18 and wrrd at 1-4 may also give a slight improvement.

He has Samsung I bet, very little tuning potential ;) Give me the challenge instead with my Hynix A-die dual rank

Keep SOC at 1.1v. Try faster fclk. 2100-2200 will work.

TLOU cyberpunk and whatever else you want. I'll share some saves and videos so you can match up settings and location.

I think we will be pretty even in tlou too. The only 7800x 3d that beat me on tlou was running 5.4 ghz (lol) with 8400 ram, 106 bus and some custom made phase change cooler

But TLOU, Jedi 2 are not PC, it's console, bad ports...
