NVIDIA is expected to roll out its RTX 4060 Ti GPU series later this month but the American hardware giant has not issued any official material about these cards - leaks have so far become the only sources of specification and configuration information. A launch price of $450 is mooted, and the low-to-midrange RTX 4060 Ti is likely to sport NVIDIA's AD106 GPU (based on its Ada Lovelace graphics architecture). Previous leaks have indicated that this variant will be offered in an 8 GB VRAM configuration with a 128-bit memory interface, although TPU hardware archivist (T4C Fantasy) reckons that NVIDIA's board partners can opt for larger pools of video memory.

A retailer in Russia has released (possibly in error) catalog listings for four upcoming Palit branded GeForce RTX 4060 Ti graphics card models. The board partner seems to be offering two sets of its Dual and StormX designs - in normal and overclocked variations - but all of these models share the bog standard VRAM allocation of 8 GB, paired with the usual 128-bit memory interface. Palit's Dual cooler design is currently available on its RTX 4070-based models, but the StormX cooling solution design has not been applied to any 40 series cards so far - the upcoming RTX 4060 Ti cards will debut a (likely) smaller StormX shroud, heatsink and fan combination.

Priced at 300-330$ it would be a good card.

It has been confirmed by so many different sources at this point that 8GB isn't news anymore.
4060Ti is DOA. At anything over $350 it's a scam, and there's no way Nvidia are selling it that cheap.

Well watch soooo many people get scammed then, because this will most def sell, sadly.

In before every tech YouTuber says it’s the next best thing since sliced bread.

Also the obligatory “recommended/editors choice awards” from TPU and the like.

You can’t fix stupid/ill informed consumers though.

They just don't care, even with all this backlash. It's up to people to not buy any of it, something that i doubt, inb4 it will be the next top gpu on steam

on the other hand it will force game devs to optimise games for 8GB, and that's great.

Then nVidia and Gamers (that understand the situation) seem to be at an impasse

ill stick to my 3060 12gb with 192bit bus.
I know some of my modded games have hit 9gb+ vram.
glad I got enough vram.

Even 300-330$ for this 4050 is a daylight robbery at best and a scam at worst case. Given its nGreedia it will be priced north of $400 and "reviewers" will be drooling and recomending this crap.

Pathetic effort from Nvidia. Even making it 160 bit bus and 10GB would have been an improvement. This is the Ti after all. 3080 seems to do pretty well with 10GB.

For a 4050ti 8GB would be good, for a 4060ti or 4070ti, minimum 12gb in 2023, 4080 or 4080ti minimum 16gb, 4090 only 24gb or more.

Not really an impasse.

Gamers aren't buying Nvidia's cards right now, that's why they're sat on shelves unsold as their prices trickle downwards. What they ARE buying is the the last-gen 3060 with 12GB and AMD's 6000-series cards with 12GB+

Not even the clueless shmucks who buy stuff without reading reviews are buying the 4070; It's Nvidia's biggest launch failure since the FX-series 20 years ago. The 4070Ti and 4080 are at least selling in small volumes, but they're not doing well - They're selling very poorly indeed and the number of discounts and unsold stock everywhere is shocking given that the market volume for x70Ti and x80 class nvidia GPUs has always been miniscule compared to the mainstream parts.

Prices are ridiculous, you can get a PS5 and Series X for the price of a GPU while having a better gaming experience, you can even use a mouse and keyboard.

PS5 uses an RDNA2 GPU that's very similar to a Radeon 6700 10GB. You can pick those up for $300 and honestly, that's good enough to play just about any game on the market right now. If the RX6700 struggles, so will a PS5

Personally I think a used 6700XT is a better investment at this point in time than a new RX6700, especially since it's looking like the next wave of RDNA3 cards will be lower-performing and held back by just 8GB of VRAM.

Impasse - a situation in which no progress is possible, especially because of disagreement; a deadlock.

if a company produces a product but no one, not even the intended target market will buy it at its MSRP,…then you have the very definition of an impasse.

Now, if they lower the price enough that it starts to sell or people just start buying it without a price reduction,….then you’re past the classic impasse.
