I hope you are joking.
Anyhow, let's be fair to wccftech, this is what they "leaked" about OC-ing 480:

Old rumor..

AMD Radeon RX 480 failed to OC to 1400 MHz
Like I said 2 days ago, most review samples are having trouble reaching anything beyond 1350 MHz. The highest reported clock is 1379 MHz. The member of the PCGamesHardware team confirmed that their sample did not reach 1400 MHz.

Well that's unfortunate...wonder how well the overclocked does and if it's because of a limiter...

my room temperature is now 25 , and the temp is 84 with 100% fan speed
i only have csgo, tw3, overwatch, sc2, batman arkham k9,
Thanks for the screenshot, this is quite informative.

I see it's hitting the TDP limit in Furmark (~150W).
What's the maximum power draw from GPU-z under normal gaming and stock clocks, but with the power limit set to the maximum from the Crimson drivers?
I've read it's 110-115W on average under default settings, but I wonder if it increases if the power limit is also increased. If it gets close to 150W it means that power is the limiting factor for overclocking as some have suggested.
I'm also wondering if the TDP limit is reached under normal gaming (not Furmark) with the overclocked card.

This is interesting.
Unlike Pascal, perhaps custom PCBs with additional power connectors would be useful.

base on this beta driver i think this is at 980 level or nearly 980 level what i expect from the GPU is its overclocking potential ......

I am still thinking about buying a RX480 for the first time after owning a Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO2 ever since then it's been Nvidia all the way.

X800GTO2. the memories!!! :D

So the oc is terrible? Mean oc rx480 is no way faster than gtx 980 stock?

i'm doing some 3dmark with stock and oc seems only 5% to 7% increase in scores no way amd let me touch the voltage.....can't change it anyway idk what they will do with the driver. Seems to me amd intentionally sell their cards before nda but why the terrible overclock ?

Wait until MSI&Sapphire will update their OC tools.

btw gives us url to ur 3D Mark Scores....

I tried many times cannot adjust the voltage from amd crimson driver
so judging this score.......is it at 970/980/290/290x level ? I haven't used any 970/980 just a Ti yes but 70/80 no......

and i think i got a Sapphire Radeon X800GTO laying around somewhere

I have build an epic P4 system around an X850XT PE AGP! (see my system specs) I have some fond memories of those days! :D

Dude, I read original post with that info. :D
(and yeah, they couldn't OC it to 1400)

Re-read the wccftech quote.

Well that's unfortunate...wonder how well the overclocked does and if it's because of a limiter...

the limiter is the overclocker, not the card! He's not using anything but what AMD offers in software, which means no voltage increase to help the over clock.

the power draw up to 169W so........

Voltage won't help, 75(PCI-E)+75[+](6x Pins)=150w, his gpu already using 170w...

Score is like my stock 290x - idk about 390x.

Reference models won't be the best for oc and we all know that. We will know for sure the capabilities of Polaris 10 in a few weeks once AIB release their custom ones. For now stock GPU should be at 390X lvl of performance if I am correct, so for $200 it is THE bargain...

Your OC RX480 graphic score is 300 points higher than my GTX 970 OC

Why is GPU-z reporting that the driver version is Crimson 16.5.2 ? This isn't the latest driver version, is it?
Is it the one that was bundled in the DVD?

So it is a waste of money to buy this RX480 if you already on GTX 970, 290X, 390 or any faster card?

Of course. This is for 380 and 960 guys.
