Samsung 970 Pro 512 GB

Include a stick on heatsink separately like a data does
And make me pay for that whether I want it or not? Thanks, but no, thanks.
NVMe SSDs works fine without a heat sink as they are. Whoever needs to keep temps down, can do so for peanuts money. I'm down with that.

Concerning:
"The hottest part reached 102°C, which is significantly higher than what the drive's own SMART temperature monitoring reports."

Is Samsung pulling a Volkswagen?
i don't think so but some would use test not to the max and it may not reveal the worst case like lack airflow, ambient temp like when you test it in nigeria you may get higher temp :D

You do realize it's rather trivial for manufacturers to glue a heat sink on each and every SSD. Yet the moment they'd do this, you'd be complaining it doesn't fit your laptop. There's no way manufacturers can win this.
Hey, here is an amazing concept, heatsinks can be included, but not preinstalled. Amazing, right!?!

Are you also one of the whiners who wouldnt stop complaining about intel HD graphics taking away from your "XTRA COARS?" that you could have had if it wasnt for the plebs?

Looks like almost all of your tested nvme drives have something with office installation. Any idea what's the reason?
Thanks for the great test again.

It happens during install source file integrity verification in the Office installer.

According to graphs, any chance to check with nvme pcie x2, and m2 sata? Is it a pcie latency issue? Or is it a MS issue? Checks happening local or checking back to MS servers? ( I dont have Office 2016 )

Just got a 970 pro 1TB to replace my intel 6000P (variant of the 600P reviewed here)
I was noticing hitching and stutters when using long term writes such as shadowplay... think i found out why, and might be in for a nice upgrade
