Why not? Tablet is just like a bigger mobile phone, used from close distance and perfect device for high resolution display. It's perfect for 4K streaming from Netflix, Prime and other platforms. Perfect for 4K movies from Plex home collection too.

Mobile phones from Samsung, Apple and other already have 3K screens. Tablets are bigger, so there's no reason not have 4K display, at least on the Ultra flagship.

Premium price requires premium features. Samsung went cheap on display on Ultra tablet. I know this because Samsung also provides 4K OLED displays to Asus for Vivobook laptops. I bought one last year and it was only 100 bucks more than S9 Ultra. This puts S9 Ultra in shame as super pricey gadget, but much less performant.
