Power consumption at read pretty high, 7.6 - 9W, while E26 (T700 for example) have 4.5W, according to your tests.
When tests of these 9100 PRO ?
 
Yeah the problem with these if they wont idle at the idle wattage, then they consume more power than a enterprise spindle, I always seem to have trouble with NVME temps, and I think this is likely that they not idling properly.

Example as reported by crystal diskinfo (this doesnt show all temp sensors when is more than one).

5400RPM spindle's in my PC right now 27C 27C 25C 26C
SATA SSD 860 EVO 22C
NVME 980 PRO 38C
NVME SN850X 38C
NVME DC P4600 22C (this one I think is idling, its an enterprise SSD connected on a PCIe slot).

Of course it could be just that M.2 sucks for airflow, I do remember my 970 EVO improving a lot after I placed it in a PCIe adaptor.

I have found my next NVMe. Been using the 970 Pro for 5 years.

I have found my next NVMe. Been using the 970 Pro for 5 years.
Basically everyone who has and love the legendary 970 PRO! :love:
Will wait about 10~12 months before getting one but YEAH!
Finally a gen5 SSD with lower Wattage!

Nice catch, (good) sata SSDs always run cooler than nvme.
 
I can't wait to see TPU put this drive through the tests... I need to see what real world benefits Samsung provides.
 
I doubt anything substantial or wrothwhile vs the price.. but well see.

companies promise what they want. I guess if you ask nvidia, theyll want you to belive the 5070 is like a 4090. all pr nonsense. after all the fiasco with their recent nvme failures, that company is on my blacklist. I dont buy anything samsung. even their software magician is useless

Random IOPS looking like Sequential speeds these days
Samsung's m2 SSD were always having top notch controllers.
 
What do the random iops equate to in MBps? Isn't current best around 150 1T and 300 32T?
 
Checked the controller specs, and the 5 nm process is really promising.
Contrasted the good but older standard Phison E26 which is 12nm.
This one might get legendary status like the good old 970 PRO.
