Wasn't there Samsung debacle with iPhone chips though? I.e. that Samsung 14nm chips were consuming more than TSMC 16nm?
That's what I was referencing back in post #36 when I answered the same post. Samsung's A9 chip is smaller, but performs slightly worse, uses more power (battery life 20% lower), and runs hotter than TSMC's 16nmFF A9

midnightoil seems to be a veritable goldmine of misinformation. I'm still waiting on the proofs for his claims.

however, Samsung made Apple A9 on their 1st generation 14nm FinFET, whereas they are going to produce AMD chips on their just launched 2nd generation 14nm LPP FinFET.
