TBH I just look for a decent PSU range on offer somewhere. Often the price difference is only $/£/€10 for each jump - say from 650W to 750W to 850W. Given that a PSU will last for several CPU/GPU upgradese and GPUs are only getting hungrier each generation, I'd always be tempted to get the slightly more potent PSU that you strictly need just to avoid running into this underpowered PSU problem again in the near future.
Super Flower Leadex III is usually available at a good price from Newegg and/or Amazon, and is a top notch PSU. Depending on timing, you can find the 750W and sometimes the 850W for ~$100.

There's no way to really apply undervolts in that calculator there but since a crash will reset your GPU clocks and voltages back to 320W defaults, you do need the system to be stable at stock speeds. Let's face it, if someone can afford a $625 graphics card, they can afford a $100 PSU with enough juice to power it ;)
For sure, this is why I keep saying the fact that good 750W PSUs are available for fairly cheap negates a lot of the argument, there's just no reason NOT to. It's just not worth saving $10 to get a lesser one.
