Fun week ahead! Around my parts the 4060 should have an MSRP of 335€ and the 4060Ti 449€ (which is on par with what the "vanilla" 3070 costs now), which is more than I expect an 8GB card should cost in 2023, and the 16GB 4060Ti is just ridiculously priced (559€).
I'm starting to consider going for a 12GB 3060 if I can find them new below 300€ (I actually found one but I never heard of the store before).

Normally I say buy what you like, but if you are still earnestly focused on getting the most for your money then neither 30 series nor 40 series is for you. The value just isn't there.

A bunch of my friends have been snapping up 6700XTs and 6750XTs on sale lately. Not bad at all for gamers on a budget. And if you can spare a bit more, 6800XTs and 6950XTs on sale are great.

edit: wait, I just realized that you are stuck with G-sync because of the monitor. Tough decision. Might be time to consider breaking out of that ecosystem.

It feels like a vicious circle. To get out of the ecosystem will cost me over 450€ to get a significant upgrade - cheapest 6700XT is 380€ + monitor and at that point I'm at 4070 territory...

A new challenger appears!
3060Ti's are on sale at the moment. Several models, including some with small factory OC and GDDR6X variants are priced below 360€ (which is about the same price as the cheapest 6700XT). I'm really tempted as I'll probably won't have issues with the VRAM amount in the coming 3~4 years due to my games backlog. I'll only be pissed off if something like a 100€ price cut on the 4060Ti happens in the next year or so.
The 2 contenders right now are:
Similar OC, but I heard some bad things regarding Zotac on my research so I'm leaning towards the MSI.

Any thoughts?

The MSI Ventus is a somewhat lower tier one, which might run hotter than a "gaming x/z".

I don't think it's worth the 70€ difference and they're the versions without gddr6x

There's a GDDR6X
I wasn't saying it didn't exist, I couldn't find it at first glance on my go-to price comparison website. It turns out they're "combining" both models under the same product page. The title doesn't mention the "X" but on the store links it does.

Still no sure if it's worth the extra 70€...

It's not just the higher clockspeed, it's also another heatsink used, the Ventus versions used to run hotter.

If you don't care much about that ok.

It's not that I don't care, I just give "higher priority" to performance/€ ratio, and those 70€ would skew that ratio a lot since we're talking about ~20% of the overall card price.
Also, managed to get 15€ on steam wallet :)
