Scythe is announcing today the second High-End VGA Cooler by the name "Setsugen" (English: Snow field). Setsugen VGA Cooler is equipped with a genuine Slip Stream 120 mm Slim fan which comes with a fan controller that can be mounted in a free PCI Slot. Fan speed can be individually adjusted between 800 (± 30%) to 2,000 rpm (± 10%) which creates an airflow of 19.40 to 45,47 CFM respectively 32 to 76 m³/h. This allows the custom adjustment airflow and noise level (19.53 - 33.67 dBA) according to everyone's requirements and system specific ambient.

In order to use the full potential of the supplied fan, the M.A.P.S. (Multiple Airflow Pass-Through Structure) fin structure from the famous Mugen 2 CPU Cooler has been adopted. Thereby, Setsugen VGA Cooler is divided into 4 fin blocks whereas each of them is connected to a 6 mm thickness copper heatpipe. To further simplify the mounting process, new mechanism has been invented. Depending on VGA card, four screws need to be shifted to the proper mounting hole locations, and then secure by using the supplied backplate and thumb screws. Setsugen VGA Cooler is compatible to various VGA cards such as ATI Radeon HD 4850, HD 4870, HD 4890, HD 5850 and HD 5870 as well as NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250, GTX 260, GTX 275, GTX 280 and GTX 285. (Complete compatibility list can be found under the Specifications.) Various of aluminum hetasinks in different size and shape are supplied along with thermal compound to allow the best possible compatibility and cooling for your VGA Card.

Setsugen VGA Cooler (Modell-Nr. SCVSG-1000) is available for 27,95 EUR (MSRP, excl. VAT) or US$ 39.50 (MSRP, excl. TAX).

oh shi- that looks nice

Reviews for it,That does look slick.

Shit is right it looks awesome. That fan placement should help cool the vrms and memory modules some too. I do hope they include memory heatsinks. I wonder though, can you add fans to the top? Because Id get one of these and one of Megalehem's new vga coolers and have crossfire goodness!

Memory heatsinks? Sure:

this is awesome!
I will try it on my 5870 ^^

45cfm LMFAO. if the fans like any of their other slim fan that's BS.

Crappy little heatsinks but i do like the cooler it self.

I want to see this compared to the Thermalright HR-03 GT and the new Prolimatech MK-13.

^^ i like the looks of this over the thermalright. this looks like it'd fit in 2 slots in a normal case without any other disturbances

this looks kick ass (Waiting for a full copper edition with copper VRM/ram set with premium Thermal Compound)

Finally a setup that blows hot air off the card!!!!!

Finally! I was thinking someone should do this back when i had my Arctic Cooling Accelerros. Might have to pick one of these up if i ever decided to build a gaming rig again. Kinda diggin the low profile build right now though.

Hmm, is this a re-release, or is their marketing department a bit out of date? http://forums.techpowerup.com/showpost.php?p=1667000&postcount=15

It looks like a great design and a good price... but why is no-one complaining it is too big to fit in their cases? Remember, this cooler sticks out above the GPU card... so make sure you have a case with plenty of headspace. In slimline cases it won't fit.
This only overhangs the card by 5cm maximum.

See the 12cm fan? It starts at the GPU and goes 12cm from that. It's 8cm from the bottom of the GPU to the top of the card.

The cooler looks great!!!Too bad it wont fit my 5770s...:mad::mad:Stupid double height dvi...
Has anyone thought about cutting 1 DVI port off?
It wouldnt hurt the card would it?
And since i use HDMI i wont be missing it...I ll have one left in any case though...

So is this worth purchasing over a Thermalright HR-03 GT for a 4870?

curious, the internal/backwards fan is a good space saver

Finally!

I was waiting for a long long time for a cooler that fits on my GTX260² and that is below 30€. The stock cooler is killing every game experience.
After reading the first reviews this sounds like a great product. Maybe there will be a bigger review that covers more than the 48xx and 58xx series.

I like the looks of it, the hidden fan is nice, keeps the clean look to it but isn't passive.

Where's 5770 support?! :(

curious, the internal/backwards fan is a good space saver

I think its great!

Been trying to find a LP fan so I could set up my HR-03 GT like this, but couldn't find any decent CFM LP fans in the UK.

bah!

that does look rather nice i may pick one up for my 4850 for the sheer looks

Apparently works better with the fan flipped round.
