Scythe unveiled its newest open-air transparent PC case made mostly of 5 mm-thick clear-acrylic, the ACB-TYPE3. Unlike most boxy or picnic basket-shaped open-air cases, the ACB-TYPE3 uses a tower-type design, with the motherboard tray along the plane of the base, rather than perpendicular to it. The drive bays (3x 5.25", 3x 3.5", 2x 2.5") and PSU bay are arranged in a compartment below the motherboard tray.

The Scythe ACB-TYPE3 supports most ATX, micro-ATX, and mini-ITX motherboards. The design also allows for CPU coolers to be as tall as 190 mm. There are plenty of cutouts for wiring and tubing to pass through the various compartments of the case. The lack of side-panels is what makes it an open-air case, as do the lack of included fans. The best part -- it comes dismantled for you to assemble yourself, and its box isn't much bigger than the one a flat-panel monitor ships in.

Measuring 368 x 270 x 347 mm, the ACB-TYPE3 weighs about 2.6 kg. It is expected to be priced at around US $85.

Unpretty and unoriginal. Looks like a stack of parts and nothing more.

In your case, open air is the better option unless you mod the balls out the case ( like I did! 22cm fan in the front and 2 x 120mm on the sides instead of the original fans)

Not as nice looking as the DD Torture Rack, but it's also less than half the price...
