Scythe unveiled the low-profile Shuriken 2 SCSK-2000 CPU cooler (not to be confused with the Big Shuriken series of large top-flow coolers). With a height of 58 mm (with the fan in place), the SCSK-2000 is meant for compact Mini-ITX desktop builds with fairly high thermal loads of around 100 W TDP. Its design consists of a dense aluminium fin-stack arranged along the plane of the motherboard, to which heat drawn indirectly through a nickel-plated copper base-plate is conveyed by four 6 mm-thick heat pipes. The heatsink is ventilated by Kaze Flex 92 Slim PWM fan. This 92 mm spinner takes in 4-pin PWM input, spins between 200 to 2,500 RPM, and pushes 4.96 to 41.30 CFM of air, with a noise output of up to 23.2 dBA. Measuring 94 mm x 93 mm x 58 mm (WxDxH), the SCSK-2000 weighs 350 g. Among the CPU socket types supported are AM4 and LGA115x. The cooler will be available from early-December. The company didn't reveal pricing.

That looks great. Getting a decent cooler for Node 202 was challenging.

Node 202 has a max cooler height of 56mm. This one is 58mm.

Fractal Design says the max height is 56 mm, but the clearance is actually 60 mm. I have one, and I modified a Scythe Big Suriken 2 for AM4 (58 mm height) and was able to use it without problems

Without dust filter, it fits Big shuriken 2 without an issue, which is also 58.
However, Big Shuriken 2 has no AM4 support and memory height compatibility issues. So this cooler should be great for Node 202 irrelevant of intel or amd platform.

Looks like a good cooler. I'd get one, but Scythe's availability here is scarce to say the least.

Similar design to the Big Shuriken 3 cooler Scythe Big Shuriken 3 Low Profile 120mm CPU cooler - Newegg.com , I have one of those in use with my 2700x and it's been doing great.
I don't believe this new cooler is quite as capable as the one linked but should still be good enough.

Worth noting the one I linked does support AM4 out of the box unlike some that says it supports AM4 but doesn't come with mounting hardware for setting it up.

Yeah this might be a great cooler for Node 202 looking forward to see some reviews , going to hit Optimum Tech on twitter to make sure he takes a look at it .

Not really , by removing the dust filter you can go up to 62-63mm , im running an NH-L9 + NF-F12 on top of that ( and there is still 0,5-1mm gap between the 92mm and 120mm fans ) in mine so yeah 58mm will definitely fit !

Noctua's fans, say something~!
Haha, u only have sucks L9i can come to expose its inadequacy.

+1 He's a great reviewer.

Isn't TPU's own @AleksandarK also an SFF enthusiast? Perhaps he can run some benches as well.

Yeah, I am a fan of Scythe coolers, I have one in my Node 202 which works beautifully. The only way for me to get one here in Australia, at a reasonable price, was to order it from Amazon US.

It's a shame they didn't made an AM4 compatible mounting kit for their Big Shuriken 2 Rev.B because this is probably the best cooler one can get in the Node 202 .

Yeah there's also SFF.Network they seem to get review samples from Scythe relatively quickly so chances are they might come up with a review as well .

Yes i am also present on smallformfactor.net forums (and a huge SFF enthusiast) but only as Admin. Never done any reviewing for the site, nor do i write any reviews for TPU at the moment. Folks over at SFF.net and here on TPU are awesome reviewers and are doing their jobs superbly. I am sure if they get a review sample they will do an awesome analysis of the performance.
