Seasonic today introduced three Prime SnowSilent series PSU models. The series is characterized by white main body, a chrome-finished steel fan grille, and a white impeller on its main fan. The internal DC outputs and AC receptacles are contrasting black. There's an intense design focus on keeping the noise output of these units low. The fan downright stays off below a load threshold, and only has a low noise output beyond that. The fans feature fluid-dynamic bearings to help low noise and longevity, to keep up with the series' staggering 12-year product warranties.

The three models launched today are the SnowSilent 550 Gold, SnowSilent 650 Platinum, and SnowSilent 750 Titanium. The SnowSilent 550 Gold puts out 550W continuous output, and boasts of 80 Plus Gold efficiency. It is intended for gaming PC builds with 1-2 graphics cards. The SnowSilent 650 Platinum features 650W continuous output, and 80 Plus Platinum efficiency. The SnowSilent 750 Titanium leads the pack with 750W continuous output, and 80 Plus Titanium efficiency. The 650 Platinum and 750 Titanium are intended for builds with high CPU power draw, and 2-3 graphics cards.

Under the hood, all three models feature DC-to-DC switching, active PFC, micro-tolerance load-regulation (MTLR), a single +12V rail design, and most common electrical protection mechanisms, against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit. The 550W model features a single 4+4 pin EPS connector, and two 6+2 pin PCIe connectors. The 650W model comes with four 6+2 pin PCIe (two more than the 550W model). The 750W model has two 4+4 pin EPS (one more than the other models). All models feature six SATA power connectors, five Molex, and one Berg. The 550W and 650W models are 14 cm long, while the 750W model is 17 cm long. The company didn't reveal pricing.

It should be called SnowWhite :D

MAN that thing looks great and that warranty :respect:

It should be called SnowWhite :D

Maybe they thought snow flake due to the perforations in the chassis

But i do like SnowWhite much more as i don't believe they should have the work flake in the naming. but not using SnowWhite ( how ever you want to spell it )) avoids possible copy rights.

This PSU 550w gold, plus MSI B360 Arctic White new mobo, plus i5-6600 non-k, some white CPU cooler or just set RGB light on a water cooler to white only...

a slightly tinted glass but not too dark side panel... a white GPU when GDDR6 cards come out this fall...

my dream build... lol

I would love one of these but I don't need one for another 7 years...lol
Seasonic with their perfectly made PSU's... Are now giving 12 year warranties...
LoL..ok..
Is anyone actually competing with them realistically anymore?

- looking for a white PSU for a project

(HEAVY BREATHING)

Yeah I wanted an all-white build this time but it became all (or mostly) black instead. Still a tremendous lack of white parts especially for GPUs, except for that retarded Hall of Fame thing.

Would you really want to kiss your PSU every time to turn it on?

Yup, that "snow white " sounds like a Disney trademark.

B360 is fo coffee lake not skylake so you would want to get a i5 8600 not a 6600

Much more; affiliate their pretty masculine and toptier PSU with femininity (to the SJW out there; calm down.) Their product is catering to a tip of hardware entusiast which are predominantly males, so calling it 'snow white' would be like saying that prada's new perfume should be called 'musk-beater 9000'. (You know what im saying) ;p

At the top end? Superflower, EVGA (using Superflower built units), Corsair, Coolermaster, Andyson...

Midrange? Evga, Corsair, Superflower, Coolermaster (Seasonic built units though), Bitfenix, BeQuiet...

Budget? Seasonic are not competitive here as their only budget line (S12II/M12II) is outdated and does not compete with the competition. In this sector you are looking at BeQuiet, Corsair and Coolermaster units primarily.

This makes me want to go back to a white case again.

The thing is that with the combination of price, quality and warranties, you can only get Seasonic. Competitions don't usually have all three.

I don't see all seasonic platforms at mid range . there KM3 platform was top notch [opinion] and they served me real well [x850 w ]

750w 2015

''This is the new Seasonic XP2S platform, which is among the best non-digital PSU platforms money can buy today'' [maybe that means mid range ? ]

I like to know what the ''PRIME'' silent snow offers more or if a new build platform

maybe techpowerup will follow up with a tare down review for a good look inside ?

I bought a 520W Seasonic for $45 full price. That's pretty competitive lol. No one else is close. I don't care what the efficiency rating is (I believe the design is about 10 yrs old at this point). The other units aren't going to have the robustness in budget land.
