My XFX Speedster QICK 319 RX 6700XT, just a modest score compared to the high end and new gen graphic monsters. But good enough for me, I'm happy with it  .
CPU CO all core -30 & PBO 100+, RAM 3600 CL16, GPU & VRAM @ stock settings

Schermopname (3).png

@ 1920x1080 for comparisson

Schermopname (4).png

@ 3440x1440 which is the native resolution of my monitor, still perfectly playable.

I would prefer to play it in 1080p at 165 fps. Everyone has a different preference though, which resolution do you think you will end up playing it at?

Nice scores I wanna upgrade from 9900k too but I feel it’s not time yet
Not worth it unless you like tinkering and benching and best possible frame pacing. Now I'm thinking of a 240hz OLED monitor to really stretch its legs...

Thanks to Skatterbench and Buildzoid for oc info.

I mean, if I had your rig, I'd wait for 240hz 4k 32" oled or 480hz 27" 1440p oled, both come out next year.

For me these frame rates are not so important as long the games run smoothly.
For my monitor I think it runs max @ 160Hz, but the AMD Freesync @ a max of 100Hz.
I don't know what the correlation is between refresh rates and FPS, but no need to push to the limit.

So if it runs nice with 60 ~ 100 FPS the 3440x1440 resolution definitely has my personal preference.
But like you said, everyone to his own.

Yep, next will be a monitor upgrade. Fairly certain, nothing will dethrone the 7800x3D for a while, except for price cuts.

That is highest 1920x1980, I know you won't be able to understand a thing, but I'm pretty sure you know what is where;

SOTTR.png

16% GPU bound seems kind of strange to me? I have also maxed out everything @1440p and got like 25% (with avg FPS of 48). I know an i5-11400 is not a beast by any means, but so is the non-XT 6700... Any ideas?

Your ram, if you tune it your cpu should be able to hit around 180-200fps. Right now you are only getting 123.

I have a DDR4 3200 CL16 in Dual Channel (4x8 GB)... You made me kind of scared, so I ran Passmark:

Okay, if you say so.

You asked, you received knowledge. Whether you want to accept it it's up to you. I had an 8700k and a 11600k, both are capable of over 200 fps in t his game with some proper ram. SOTR really likes ram. Yours is average.

How do you know it's RAM and not something else? I checked your suggestion, ran a RAM specific benchmark and it looks OK. No need to be rude.

What else should I do?

I know cause I like benching. SOTR likes fast and low latency ram. Yours isn't.

That RAM specific benchmark you ran told you nothing. All of the "comparisons" are against piss poor ram running at mega slow speeds, or being single channel.

Well, I don't think swapping normally working 3200 MHz RAM for even 4266 MHz RAM would give me +64% boost in performance (200 FPS vs. 122 FPS), so something must be clearly wrong with RAM settings, right?

Power limits set to manual, advanced, 200/160/190 +200 -25 all core should get you boosting and holding at 4850.

It wont use all that, so don't worry.. the socket isn't allowed to feed it that much with PBO.

Nothing is wrong, your ram is 3200c16. That's the performance you get with the ram you have, so im not sure what you are asking exactly. Was running 4400c16 on an 8700k and i was over 200 in the CPU game.

And yes, in SOTR you can easily get 60+% just by ram.
