im just putting out reasonable numbers. if amd can deliver more than this that would be great. i just dont see 5ghz as the norm. its likely that some particular parts may do 5ghz and that would be great. my expectation is that we will get 10%~15% boost in ipc and between 4.5-4.7ghz as the norm. mind you that this is a pretty decent jump in performance. if you head over to the
cinebench thread and look at the scores for many of those ryzen 7 2700x's and run some numbers like what 15% more performance would add to them and 300 more mhz then you would see that the r7 2700x would align with the i9 9900k and thats what amd demoed zen2 competing against. i also understand that it was an early sample and the final product may be faster but ive had my hands on to many early build procs to know that what was demoed is pretty close to a finalized build so long as no bugs where found. it was also a highly binned chip that was used no doubt so that they could show off.
