In New Zealand, cheapest RX 480 is $480 (ironic) which is about same price as cheapest R9390 and GTX970. Cheapest 1070 is $790 and cheapest 1080 is $1220, almost 3 times the price of the RX 480. IS the GTX1080 2.5 times better than the RX 480 ?
Same here across the ditch in Australia for pricing. As for the 1080, it is close to 2.5 times the performance of a RX480.

Benchmark Scores Faster than the tortoise; slower than the hare.
The 295 also sucks power like it's going out of fashion.
RX 480 does too compared to GTX 1080. That's the part that concerns me about Zen. If Global Foundries' 14nm does so poorly compared to TSMC's 16nm, how is it going to stand up to Intel's far-more-mature-than-anyone-else's 14nm? I don't think it can. I'm hoping there was a fluke at Glo Fo which is why AMD opted to go mid-range first. If not, the bigger picture isn't very cheery.
