Hello THEBOSS619,

I make a account for you, I feel feedback is really must to have when a job is amazing so......Thank you very much for your work , it's impressive.

I tested the tuning version with samsung feature ( I have 990 Pro Samsung)

You can have the result here with 3DMark benchmark, nice improvements

Just maybe a esthetic feedback , your .bat have still some echo related to other modded driver wifi (BTW , i will look that now for my laptop with AX210 :) )

I will make some ad for this project
Thank you for your report! :respect: I really appreciate your kindness and support!.:toast: I'm always happy to see the benefits getting used for everyone and everybody :)

Regarding the echo thing forgive me, yeah I guess I missed a cosmetic thing regarding that :D , Thank you again! :)

Wow! that's a big jump! :toast:amazing results! thank you for sharing this ;) and for your time to report those results :) This is really marvelous :rockout:!

Not bad at all! RNK4K improvements is there on both of your NVMe SSD ;) are those the [+Tuned] ones or the non-tuned ones? :) thank you so much for sharing your results & for your time reporting this :respect:

ok, I never seen this kind of side effect  are you telling me that it restores drive health? I will be mind blown if it happens with my current 2 SSD NVMe which is 98% on Lexar NM790 and 91% on Micron 2400 :D

Edited the main post with the following statements regarding using SSD software with Solidigm custom modded driver :)
  • Using apps like [Samsung Magician, Micron Storage Executive, Crucial Storage Executive, etc...] with solidigm custom driver might cause issues for example [Overprovision Features] will cause problems on certain SSDs.

I very much doubt it, but two drives that were at 98% health went up to 99% health after installing the driver...

Mine went down, it could be just timing of it though.

Damn, that's some mixed results :wtf: some gains and some loses even on RND4K the same thing, ah well maybe your two SSD's might not like the solidigms driver, have you tried tuned ones? or vice versa? :)
Thanks great driver

amazing to see! thank you for sharing your results! :) thank you for your kindness and support :respect:

yea, I'm trying to wrap my head around this side effect, I can't think of any conclusions that leads to restoration of drive health  I'm trying so hard to understand this...
amazing jump! that's a great improvements you got here across the board! ;) thank you for reporting :) and for your time sharing those results :respect:

Read figures almost no variance at all for the Seagate, write speeds however increased, for the Optane, a notable increase on read and kinda tanked the write a tad bit (default profile with NVME settings)

I gotta say Intel Optane with those sweet sweet RND4K is just chef kiss.
I'm happy to see that even with top tier NVMe SSDs benefit from this Solidigm driver. :)

Great results and amazing report. Thank you for your time and sharing your findings :respect:

Looks like the modded+ got some tad postive results on RND4K compared to stock ones. In that case either keep using Solidigm driver or get back to stock as you ain't missing much :) but if you keep using Solidigm then pretty much you ain't losing anything ;)

Have now done everything with testing. Installed drivers, restarted, started Trim, benchmark ... all under W11 24H2

Solidgm P44 Pro 2TB:
- original Solidigm driver
- Mod driver
- Mod driver tweak

--> Zero difference, normal measurement deviations

WD 850X:
- MS driver
- Mod driver
- Mod driver tweak

--> MS driver brings 15% more with RND4K Q32T16/Q1T. No difference between the two slower mod drivers, both equally slow.

Conclusion ... Placebo, tendency to counterproductive.

PS: if you test NVME SSD you should also change the CrystelDiskMark settings from Default to NVME. If you test with the HDD profile, you can of course also talk yourself into placebo performance. If you want even better results that have nothing to do with reality, it is best to set the test data from random to zeros only. You should also be able to use a benchmark, the masses don't seem to be able to!
PPS: with the mod drivers I can also crash applications in a comprehensible way if they these are running on the WD. So if you don't want to lose any data, you should keep your hands off it.

And hence why those lines are mentioned on the main post... :)

Test before & after and decide if you want to keep using this driver or not :) Focus on RND4K read/writes, that's what the Solidigm driver are focusing for ;) That's what is most important parameter for day to day usage. They are the ones that Windows typically uses [RND4K] in almost all kind of read/write operations.
  • If you are willing to continue then please be careful and mindful on each step... especially when doing the Uninstall Instructions. Notice that using apps like [Samsung Magician, Micron Storage Executive, Crucial Storage Executive, etc...] with solidigm custom driver might cause issues.

I'm thankful for your time and work sharing those reports & results. Everyone has to decide if it is worth it or not by testing & finding out. It's everyone's preference & the results they obtained :)

Amazing results ;) having those RND4K improvements is much more important than others especially when Windows typically uses RND4K on almost mainly on every IO operations :) good job! :toast: and thank you for your time reporting & sharing your results :respect:

I'll mess with the WIFI drivers with no worry's but I won't mess with SSD drivers that much.

no worries at all ;) fully understandable :toast: If I ever found an issue on my own devices.. I will definitely report it here :) I am currently using it at my job on my work PC and in 2 of my laptops (work ones & personal ones):D

Greetings!

Here are my findings:

I conducted tests on my ZHITAI Tiplus 7100 2TB drive using the solidium driver and the solidium_tuned driver. Both drivers demonstrated nearly identical performance, which was notably better than the Microsoft driver that comes with Windows.

The test was performed using IOzone, and the command I used is shown in the attached picture. Since I have data stored on this drive, I opted not to test with FIO, so please take these results with a grain of salt.

I ran the test several times, and the numbers fluctuated slightly, measured in megabytes. However, I believe the performance improvement brought by the Solidium driver is clearly beyond the margin of error. Please also note that only one of the results is included in this chart, as I reused the command and overwrote the previous file.:(

Thanks again!:toast:

Thank you so much for doing those tests, I'm thankful for your amazing reports and information. I mean looking at those beautiful charts is just phenomenal, I can't thank you enough for that :respect: Thank you for your time and passion for posting those results, it just confirms again & again how Solidigm provided an exceptional driver :toast:

Who would have though a driver would provide this kind of performance improvements. It just shows that not everything have to be hardware side optimizations but also software side too :)
