You mean fan headers of the motherboard I guess, yes tried them all I think...

These fans have 3 modes, I will try them at max 2500rpm first.

This is at 1500rpm, not louder than noctua nf-a12x25

If the noise is a concern, all of these fans are PWM for a reason.

Hope these new Be Quiet! fans fix this issue..

No I didn't try DC mode , since they are PWM fans.

It's just an alternative way to control fan speed with the 3rd instead of 4th pin. Easily changed in the dropdown in Gigabyte bios fan control.

Voltage is a necessity for A12x25s on Y-splitter that don't play nice with Gigabyte boards and abruptly stop. Stands to reason it's worth trying even if no Y-splitter.

I was talking abotu the Typhoons I had one back in the day before PWM. The 3 pin was the connector so full speed it was and it was by far the fastest RPM fan I have ever had. I think I still have it in a bin somewhere. I have the Noctua 140mm 3000RPM and they are nothing like the Typhoon at 120mm.

Need at least 60 CFM if possible...

Got 1 of these at top-exhaust but becomes noisy at higher rpm's, was otherwise been a good choice with it's 1300rpm , 74.25 CFM..

Edit: Ok the Scythe Slipstream 120 PWM is not that unbearably loud, just ran it at 100%, maybe I have no other option than Scythe slipstream 120 PWM fans...

Scythe Slipstreams are ancient. I remember people talking about those all the time back when I frequented overclock.net more than a decade ago. They are pretty quiet, but they're also known for having horrible static pressure. You won't get 60CFM from those when mounted on anything.

Well, they should work as good as the 3 Noctua's NF a12x25's I have according to W1zz's review,
the SW Pro4's are even more powerful (CFM) at 3000rpm than the Noctua's, but I'll set the switch at 2500rpm,
which I expect to be good enough to cool my i7 12700K...

I just hope it fixes my fanstop on startup issue...

I have no issues with the NHD15S, if you could fit one of those. The 14cm Noctua doesn't seem to turn off.

Edit: I had a similar issue you describe with my old Gigabyte where it didn't provide enough start up voltage before PWM so the fans wouldn't start spinning / would stop spinning during the boot if the PWM curve was too sedate. Thankfully the ASRock and EVGA motherboards I have had since provide a nice big blip of voltage before going into PWM mode.

Haven't found a real solution online yet though....

0 RPM mode should never activate on its own
It needs a PWM signal below a certain threshold for fans to stop - so what are you using here? Are you just throwing the default motherboard settings? a fan controller? voltage instead of PWM signals?

PWM is always 12V but pulsing, voltage isnt - voltage tends to have the issues where fans spin down and cant spin up, and various case hubs are PWM only and run at 100% or nothing at all when fed a voltage signal

Well that fan app is the cause of your problems then, not the fans.

Put better settings in it, or change software.

If a fan stops, it does it before I login and before the fan app is loaded, so it has nothing to do with the fan app in windows....

If you daisy chained the Noctua fan off another fan so the motherboard only sees that fan's tach signal, would that work? By this I mean I have a Aquacomputer Splitty 9 Active hub. I have one of my Thermalright's providing the return tachometer signal to the motherboard. All the other case fans run on the hub, but they are not all identical Thermalrights, so the motherboard only sees the Thermalright's tachometer signal in response to the motherboard's PWM output, but the SP120L and the Noctua NF-A12x15 are on the same PWM output as the Thermalright. I hope that was readable.

If you have another PWM fan that does work, you could try doing this by using a splitter cable so the motherboard just sees the other fan's tachometer, not the Noctuas. Total shot in the dark but might work if you have a pile of fans and cables like I do.

I tried, sometimes it worked, next day it didn't, randomly...

Got the new fans installed, powered on, all fans keep spinning, so all fine for a first start!
I have them set to 2500 rpm max, they do have a jet sound at around 2000, they would be quite loud if I had set them to 3000...

Edit: Tweaking fan profiles...

But.. They move a ton of air!

After running 1 Cinebench R23 multi:

Yeah cancelled those.
However I still have 3 Scythe fans coming, oh well maybe sell them or maybe keep them for my nephew as case fans.

My motherboard just didn't like Noctua fans it seems... :ohwell:

The fanstop issue seems finally to be solved with my 3 new Be Quiet! fans.

Actually my case has it kind of and I use it for 2 140mm intake fans, the switch has 3 modes, DC fans though, no PWM.

I just prefer full control of the fans with software creating fan profiles.

I had a Zalman fan controller in the past with nice display and all, for controlling 4 fans...
