Sony Announces 30th Anniversary Collection with Limited Edition PlayStation 5 Consoles and More

Why the hate? I'm a "hybrid" gamer, the launch of PS5 Pro was a joke, but otherwise I can't see a reason for that hate.

I was a pure console gamer for a decade since my kid days to my teen days before I got into PC gaming, I still didn't abandon console gaming. Though having a fast PC and a last-gen console is the best IMO since you can play the newest AAA games on PC, and some games with cheap prices with the older console.
Well, obviously we are from different gens, and have differing opinions of the whole gammin thing....BUT THAT'S OK, cause everyone is entitled to their own thoughts :)

I have very low opinions of the gammin industry as a whole, simply because it is a never-ending money pit, with seemingly never-ending rehashes of rehashes of other rehashes, both in hardware & software, plus membership fees, DLC, and other proprietary nonsense...and don't even get me started on the ownership (or lack thereof) issues, which granted, are not exclusive to games, but just sayin...

Please tell me the last time any of the gammin folks came out with something that was actually NEW or INNOVATIVE or Revolutionary on either the hdwr or s/w side of things.. been while huh ??

PS5 Dualsense, all the adaptive controllers for disabled people Sony and Microsoft launched, SteamOS 3.0 from Valve that made gaming on linux jump to an entirely different level, etc.

Should I go on? Feel free to drop a random trollish comment on how this is not innovative or not real innovation but things are definitely still happening if anyone cares to look.

I'll play a bit of the devil's advocate here: If every game needed to be revolutionary or new in every mechanism to get the green light, the gaming industry wouldn't be able to become something that people can do as a job, since it wouldn't generate enough money to pay people. A studio would put out very few games across several decades, spending most of its time in development hell going back to the drawing board every time that something doesn't work out as well as they expected it, but being forbidden to re-use the principles that were successful in their previous games. A game would then have to be a very expensive item to buy to make up for that, like a piece of art.

As long as a game is fun, it's fine if the improvements are iterative IMHO. If you look at the Zelda games, they are re-using the basic gameplay, refining it across the years. Still, each games introduce a new core mechanic (OOT time travel, WW sea, TP wolf form etc...) along with new items that weren't present in the past but provided new ways to interact with the world.

Animal crossing new horizons
Mario odysee
bayonetta 3
f-zero 99
fire emblem three houses
fire emblem warriors
hyrule warriors
zelda TOTK
zelda BOTW
mario + rabbids kingdom 1+2

I could go on. I intentionally didnt include games like Mario kart 8, which was a wii u game, but has now recieved double the content on the switch to make it the largest mario kart game ever made. I also didnt include any of the remakes, like pokemon mystery dungeon, or advanced wars re-boot camp.

Nintendo has many problems. Churning out quality games is NOT one of them.

Meanwhile, how many games does PS5 have that are not on PC and dont require the VR2 headset? Like 6? There's 21 "exclusives", 5 are VR exclusive, one is DLC for project wingman that is VR exclusive, Neptunia is a PS3 game, death stranding 2 and marvels wolverine are not out yet, and Stellar blade is getting a PC release.

That leaves astro bot, astros playroom, FF VII rebirth, TLOUII remastered, Quantum Error (LMFAO what a masterpiece right there), r type final 3 evolved, rise of the ronin, silent hill the short message, and spider man 2.

9. 9 whole exclusives. Switch has over 100. The switch has more exclusives that start with B, F, M, S, and P individually then sony has in total. Wowzers.:roll::laugh:

wait seriously? Horizon remake?

ROFL you cant be serious.
Oh here we go..

Animal crossing new horizons( I love me some Animal Crossing)
Super Mario 6..I mean Sun..I mean Gala..DAMMIT I mean Super Mario Odyssey
bayonetta 3(the only good one out of this to be honest)
f-zero 99(that's not an acutal game more of a BG kind of game so that doesn't count LMAO)
fire emblem three houses(Mid)
fire emblem warriors(Nintendo 3DS game, doesn't count)
hyrule warriors(Nintendo Wii U Title that was RE-RELEASE)
zelda TOTK( Meh would look better on a Steam Deck or the ROG ALLY)
zelda BOTW((Nintendo Wii U Title that was RE-RELEASE)
mario + rabbids kingdom 1+2(This was CO-DEVELOPED by Ubisoft not NINTENDO so wouldn't even count that since Nintendo doesn't own Ubisoft AND Ubisoft Published the game)

Animal crossing new horizons
Super Mario Odyssey
bayonetta 3
fire emblem three houses
zelda TOTK

5 NEW GAMES within 7 YEARS within the Nintendo Switch? Yeah please bring more games to see your point because I don't see it at all LMAO

PlayStation Exclusives:
GT7
Rachet and Clank: Rift Apart
God of War Ragnarok
Spider-Man 2
Astro Bot
Astro Play Room
Destructive All-Stars
..Concord(BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)
FF7 Rebirth and at the time Remake
Forspoken
Returnal
Stellar Blade
Stray
Sackboy: A Big Adventure
Horizon Forbidden West
Ghostwire: Tokyo(YES)
Final Fantasy XIV Online

So many more I can name and these are not re-released games(LIKE NINTENDO) from previous consoles(FF7 could be but so much has changed it's not the same as the OG game rather A CONTINUATION OF THE GAME) if we include them then it would well over a 100 games (and way more than the Nintendo Switch)

Nintendo fanboys and console players in general are delusional, it's hilarious :roll::roll:

The Switch is on it's last legs. What's Sony's excuse? We are four years in and the PS5 has been underwhelming. Most of the titles have been "cross gen". Sony is too busy re-making games that can already be played on PS5 via backward compatibility to release new titles. They could literally release a The Last of US 1 Trilogy at this point. They are working on a Horizon Zero Dawn remake. A game that I can play on PS5 right now at 60fps. WTF Sony.
For the first 6 years of the Nintendo Switch's life were nothing but re-released from the Wii and Wii U Saga and no one bat a damn eye and was sooo impress that the Nintendo Switch can play PS3 AND XBOX 360 ERA GAMES but now Sony is somewhat re-releasing PS4 games and they have no games ALL OF A SUDDEN? WHERE was this energy at when the Nintendo Switch became a thing. The hypocrisy is strong in the console community

The console should look like this by default.
PS5 just give me the future-corpo-dystopian vibes.

I Installed an SSD to a PS5 some days ago and holy moly: those where crappy plastics.

The moment I played Wipeout I had to have a PSX. So I packed up my 3DO and games and traded them in towards the Playstation, Wipeout, and Battle Arena Toshinden.

Destruction Derby was SO fun! That was non stop laughs for me
Later on when I saved up the money to buy the N64, I got it with Mario and Wave Race (specifically because of Jet Moto!)

Aww man, but that is like the golden age of fan boys arguing about consoles!! Sure, Sega/Nintendo is the OG battle of the nerds, but once we got a legit 3rd player in the fight with Sony, it went to a whole nutha level!!

I'm a proud veteran of the OG Console Wars :rockout:Like, arguing with friends during recess in elementary school about which console - Genesis or Super Nintendo - was better. Shit got HEAVY!

I was Team SNES, but there's a twist! I was actually a double agent, owning both an SNES and a Genesis (as well as the Sega CD and 32X) AHA! :pimp: I liked the Genesis mostly for Sonic as well as more obscure titles like Dynamite Heddy and Vectorman and Comix Zone, and SNES for Mario, Zelda, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Earthworm Jim, the Super Star Wars games and many others.

13 million people bought a Wii U. For those 13 million people, I'm sure the re-releases were annoying. For the other 130+ million people that bought a Switch they were new games. The reason people aren't complaining about the Wii U re-releases on Switch is because no one bought the Wii U. The vast majority of gamers are unaffected by it.

The PS4 sold 117 million consoles. That a lot more people to notice and be pissed off about remasters of PS4 games coming to PS5. Especially when those PS4 games already run natively on the PS5. If anything they should be remastering PS3 games that cannot be played natively on PS5. People forked over $500, more if they were dumb enough buy from scalpers, and have little to show for it.
