Sony has announced yet another step on its work to bring its typically console-exclusive games towards the PC platform. After launching critically and consumer-acclaimed titles such as Guerrilla's Horizon Zero Dawn and Sony Santa Monica's God of War (which recently even saw the addition of PC-centric technologies such as AMD's FSR 2.0), Sony seems to be willing to forego its walled-garden approach to exclusives as it extends its player base towards the PC platform. Spider Man: Remastered will come out first, in August 12th, while Spider Man: Miles Morales has been given a tentative "Fall" release window.

Having collectively sold more than 33 million copies, Marvel's Spider Man and Spider Man: Miles Morales stand as one of Sony's most successful exclusives, despite their platform exclusivity. The Spider Man: Remastered and Spider Man: Miles Morales titles will be ported to PC by Nixxes Software, who already carry ports for Crystal Dynamics' rebooted Tomb Raider franchise and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided under their belt.

In Nixxes Software fashion, the port won't be a simple, straight one, and will instead include added ray tracing features and adjustable settings. NVIDIA's GeForce social media account on Twitter interacted with the announcement, which may be indicative of some of the company's technologies being integrated with the ported titles.

"I am extremely pleased with our collaboration with Insomniac on the Marvel's Spider-Man series, the shared support provided between our teams and their dedication to quality above all is inspiring. It allows our team to leverage our technical expertise and focus on creating the best possible PC experience that takes advantage of all the exciting possibilities the PC platform has to offer.

Our team has always been big fans of the work from Insomniac and partnering with them to bring Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales to PC in the best way we can is something we are incredibly excited about."

Jurjen Katsman, Nixxes' Founder and Senior Director of Development

This is epic, I am really glad I got my PS5 at MSRP still, even though exclusives won't exist really anymore... mainly because my dreams of building a next gen PC with RDNA3 or RTX 4080 this winter probably won't ever happen cause scalpers are shitheads eh mates?

So I will still be playing these types of games on PS5, mainly because of the scalpers.

I'm not bothered for the lag in launches, and this is amazing, we can now ALMOST/sort of (emulators) play every game on PC

Go on . . . , Sony. :rockout: NEXT: Gran Turismo7

This is pretty much the only PS Exclusive I am interested in.

Their website is kinda boring, so here is the "Opening Movie":

With VR support please. :D
I keep wanting to pull the trigger on VR but I don't want to play VR game's wish it could be used for all games in a barf free way. There may have been advancements since I last looked, admittedly I'm out of touch in this area.

They have the perfect window for it. You can't legally obtain any non-Horizon Forza game on PC as of now, since Forza 7 was removed from the store last year. Seems like a great opportunity to cash in on some desperate sim racing fans.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! God! I cannot wait! I have been waiting FOREVER for this!

Thank you Sony! :toast::respect:

Well that is it, The success of Horizon Zero Dawn has made Sony a major player in the PC Gaming Space. When this is released it will be huge as we should have all the updates and PC power for High Fidelity FPS.

Will they move to the next step and publish for Xbox also?

I'm a big fan of VR but I don't think that all games should be VR like God of War for example I would rather play it on my TV with Xbox controller.
On the other hand things like race and flight sims and games like Alyx is where the VR shines.
Assetto Corsa Competizione is amazing with FFB Wheel, butt kicker and VR.
Personally I believe that it's worth to buy Quest 2 just to play through Alyx.

last of us when?

last of us when?

I wouldn't be surprised if Last of Us 1 doesn't come to PC, it has its origins on PS3 if I remember correctly, and that is the precise reason Uncharted 1/2 is not coming to PC I suspect, PS3 natives could be "adapted" to PS4, but much more difficult to bring to PC.

last of us part 2 might come to PC though, as it was native PS4.

Ohh, I missed that. o_O Looks like it was removed because of licensing terms, which is just dumb. They should find better solution.

Reminder: Today is your last chance to buy Forza Motorsport 7
"The game will be delisted on September 15 due to the expiry of various car and track licenses, which means Microsoft can no longer sell the game. This will also mean the game will be removed from Xbox Game Pass. However, anyone who buys Forza 7 before it’s delisted will have it permanently added to their library and will be able to re-download it at any time after it’s been delisted. Multiplayer and online services will also remain available after the game is delisted."

I hope these sell exceptionally well, so Sony remains committed to the PC platform. Keep 'em coming, I won't be satisfied until i'm playing Forbidden West on a Radeon 7900 XT :rockout:

Wasn't it already re-released on PS4? If so, you could just use that as the code base for a PC version.

That will be great when/if it eventually happens, using the other titles as a reference seems to be about 4 years out.

Yes but it still depends a lot on how the porting was made. Even some games designed for the PS4 (i.e. Detroit) were hell to port to PC because of the level of optimizations having a single platform allows for.

Great looking forward to playing this , i really enjoyed days gone.

Stoked to see so many Sony games coming to PC. I was prepared to buy a PS4/5 just to play games like God of War, Last of US, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn to name a few and now we have heaps of games already with more to come.

They should bring the good old NHL series to PC, too.

I wish they made a superman game similar to that Spiderman game.
