The geforce thing seems like an enormous gimmick, I'm all for realism, but that for me is more of an annoyance than a good implementation of a mechanic. No space sim ever had something like that, and I don't think the genre needs it.

There are more interesting options, like heat, where you can close off the vents, so you can "go dark" on heat sensors in other games. It does however damage your ship. That is a good mechanic.

I agree, just letting you know why your ship turns slowly.

ok first time into that new hangar for me, it takes at least 2min. for me to load into it. At 1080p medium settings I get 45fps(just standing still) in hanger CPU at 93% ram3.3GB 1.3GB from SC. GPU 100‰ Currently ) OC, going to have to pump some juice...

Bug: if in hanger ALT + Tab out get DC.

EDIT: OC GPU from 975 to 1130 and from 1500 to 1600 20% power limit. gained 10 fps in hanger standing still, now when walking around get 30-42fps.

broken moon free flight takes 2 minutes to load the map, free flying around I'm getting around 18-30 fps sometimes going up to 40. Using a Logitech extreme 3d pro working so far. so far I'm really liking this I have a feeling if I can crank my CPU 3.4GHz it will be playable. Medium looks amazing. I will keep updating this post with more information, so people can base their system specs off of mine for performance even though my computer is very old.

After a couple mintues of Free flight on Broken Moon. Running 90c GPU even when game is pasued and on web. 68C CPU With comp opened up GPU 78c and CPU 51c

Yeah loading times for the hanger are pretty long for most people.

I'm not looking forward to the mouse/keyboard steering, but since I don't know if I even still have my old Sidewinder, much less if I can hook it up, that may be where I'm stuck for now. Still, it's pre-alpha, and I just wanna fly

Besides the whole point of AC/DFM is to balance things out.

fwiw playing this with mouse and kb is a big no no imo(hard to control/too complicated/not fun)

Naww, not raging I was half asleep. I was laughing when I wrote the snail statement. hehe I understand the ship I jumped in on is the lowest tier. I plan to upgrade to the 300i. I'm well satisfied with SC so far and now I want to spend more money on a better ship.. lol I knew this would happen now my wife is going to kick my ass for spending all my money on SC... Also, I think the biggest reason the ship feels slow is that the feature Chris created that looks like stars are moving or maybe even dust moving (I don't know what it's called..) gives you the since of speed is turned off in alpha it seems. But honestly I like the hull on the 300i better. I don't think the Aurora LN is a bad ship I just want to go faster.. lol I was thinking about getting a hornet, but it seems to be broken from what I've heard.

Oh and I've been looking at that flight stick and I'm glad you like it. Does the base feel solid?

EDIT: @Ahhzz - Just close out SC and restart it and you will be fine. I found out on the forums that a lot of people are getting stuck with the "Please wait". Just close it out and restart it to resolve that issue.

Mine said please wait as well I have found out I believe thats when its doing p2p, click log out and log back in then you can launch! and play!

when it says please wait, just close it and reopen. it's a known bug.

On an Xbox 360 controller it's left trigger + pushing down on the left stick. That will cycle through the various modes.

Hold Shift and Caps Lock, or CTRL and Caps Lock I think. Prepare for a very red screen.

on the keyboard Ctrl + Caps Lock cycles between Gsafe and comstab modes.
Caps Lock by itself is for decoupled mode.

Not yet sure if it'll be going to my neutral character or my evil character. In fact, the only thing I am sure of so far is that the Connie and LX will be going to my good(read: neutral) guy. Other than those, the rest are a toss-up. Originally the Cutlass was going to my evil character, but now that I have a Freelancer, I'm not so sure. All things considered so far, the 350R will probably be the last ship I make the decision on. I really like the idea of making it a very fast smuggling craft, also the possibility of fitting some low-draw weapons to the wings and a very hard-hitting weapon like a neutron cannon to the nose intrigues me. It'll all end up being decided when we have a better idea of how each craft will perform, their possible tuning options, etc.

Right now, I'm just looking forward to getting out in space and trying Vanduul Swarm!

Just did some Swarm for 64min. got to wave 4 insanely hard with Aurora can only hit them less than 500m and it takes 80-100% of energy weapon to kill. After that Max temps 83c GPU 51c cPU. so not to bad sadly though AVG 15-20 FPS in swarm need to OC the CPU now.

For me i find that Swarm shields regen to fast to kill with a Aurora so need to make guns stronger or swarm weaker, I have to admit it was fun for the first 30min. after that it was like "Come on and sit still so I can Shoot you!"

4 Missles, but They only come back after each elite wave thats every third round.

That's bugged ATM you get no rearm rearm or repair

If you want to dig go crazy there is a lists of all the controls here \StarCitizen\CitizenClient\Data\GameData.pak\Libs\Config\ , useful for binding unbound buttons on your stick or remaping KB+M
