You cannot get into the TNGS ships - this has been confirmed by the devs.

Looking at the patch notes they've fixed up a few bugs in AC as well - no more rapidly overheating 300i weapons, no more wingmen blowing their guns up and no more missing out on credit for a vanduul kill if they suicide. Good times.

Oh my. Freelancer variants are out, plus we all get the two TNGS finalist ships to check out in our hangars which have all be upgraded to the Deluxe version for the time being...

I dunno... I've got the Freelancer, the Cutlass, and the 315... I'm seriously tempted to go either gunboat, or cargo.... *sigh* I figure the 315 is my explorer, and the Cutlass will be the Boom Ship, so upgrading to a cargo ship is very tempting, but the Gunboat being limited is very mean heheh.

Hnggggg not an easy decision between the DUR and MIS. I think I'll go MIS as it's only losing 16 cargo units vs the DUR and jumpdrives can always be upgraded. I bet I can also add in my own long range sensors if needed. This gives me a nice missile boat if I can't find crew for my constellation or retaliator...

screw it went for the MIS. Also went and bought the Freelancer "coat" which has been described as "in no way related to any other sci-fi universe ;-) " while in a thread about Serenity. It is an actual coat for your character, not a ship skin.

The coat comes with the MIS package. Good choice btw. I figure it'll be cheaper in game to buy some external fuel pods for long range exploration than it would be to buy the giant missle pods/loading system.

Oh, decisions, decisions!! Which upgrade package to pick, the DUR or the MIS? I'm kinda partial to the idea of using my Freelancer for exploration and hope that a Connie variant will be an even more impressive missile / gun boat. Perhaps the DUR with the limited edition environment coat then!

Edit: Interesting to note that the max crew size dropped from 4 down to 2 for everything but the MIS, which is 3.

The coat comes with the MIS package. Good choice btw. I figure it'll be cheaper in game to buy some external fuel pods for long range exploration than it would be to buy the giant missle pods/loading system.

My external fuel pod is my starfarer I upgraded my LTI freelancer package with the MIS upgrade, so no coat in the package for me ($5 is a steal for a browncoat).

The Freelancer most definitely used to have a MAX crew size of 4. Hence the 4 crew chairs and bunks, but it was also listed as such in the literature of the time. They might have changed the specs a while back, but it was certainly 4 a year ago when I bought mine! What's interesting is even though the max crew changed, they kept the extra stations and bunks.

EDIT: I think many may be confused with standard vs. MAX crew figures. The Freelancer has always had a base recommended crew of 2, but previously had a maximum crew of 4. I was hoping for a pilot, co-pilot, gunner and weapons officer/radar officer/ECM/cargo master roles. Now above and beyond the pilot and co-pilot, those 2 extra roles have been eliminated for all but the MISC version, which keeps only 1 extra role.

These base model variants are pretty much foundations to build upon. I'm sure we'll all be modifying things left and right once the game is fully fleshed out. That's a big part of what I'm excited about.

I just try AC with the Oculus and WOW! The hud makes so much more sense with the Oculus! Seeing all the scanners floating in front of your face is really cool. The targeting system is centered to your view and feels really good. You look and shoot. The only grip I really have is that your head is in the center of your chest. You can literally look to your left or right to far and your shoulders block your view. I have to say with our the grip it's amazing. I can't wait for the 1080p DK2's to come out. One really good thing is that it didn't make me feel like I was going to barf!

I'm pretty sure when I purchased mine, early on, that it stated crew of two.. now, maybe it said something else in literature, but when I bought mine, early in the KS, it was only two....

Still, looking forward to flying it

I've currently got my two Omnisky VI's equipped to my 300i but they won't fire. They say they're turned off under the Power tab, and when I hit enter to turn them on, nothing happens!
