Star Wars Outlaws

Lots of random crashes to the desktop without an error message, and all patch up , plus we have similar system , Ubisoft platform is what I use .
Ubisoft client is crap too. If I leave it open next day I always get an error message that it crashed due to an error.

There were instances were I would search for the quest giver or location for like 30min but couldnt find what / who triggered the quest. So doing that 40 times all over.. no way
That was intentional. Some of the quests had relatively vague description of where to look for. And finding sidequests was often a matter of random spot with Listen tag.

For those that have this game with an RTX 4070, what settings do you use to not run out of VRAM? I am on 2560x1440 and am using DLSS Quality. Turned down a lot of settings to medium and still keep running out of VRAM. Game looks ugly at high settings, but looks even worse at medium with low quality textures. Any settings that really save VRAM? Disabled the path tracing and ray tracing global illumination but still get the ugly low end textures.

Technical issues aside, this is one of those games that seems like it was made by 5-8 different random studios with only basic notes shared between them. An art team that threw together a map and random people throwing missions on a map that makes zero sense from a navigation or gameplay standpoint.

Edit: Okay for some reason now it works good. Was able to turn up settings again. Don't know what worked.

Edit 2: No it doesn't work. Seems like the indoor HUD area drains VRAM. It will be using around 8GB of VRAM outdoors and look great, then if I go into this hub area it will hit 12GB and stay there regardless of where I go next. A restart of the game fixes it until I go back to the hub. Seems like bad optimization and something triggers a massive use of VRAM when you enter a certain area.

Edit 3:

Fix for texture issue:

Go to save location:
My Games\Outlaws

Open:
graphic settings.cfg

Go to:
["streamer dedicated budget"] = 1024,

The number should be 1024. It is often set to 64. Save as Read Only.

Simple to fix, but crazy this was not fixed day 1. It isn't like this is a hard to find bug that would affect 80% or more of gamer's GPUs. I can confirm this works for me, at least for now. Turned settings back up a bit.

Picked this back up after finishing something else and having a blast! Kay’s wit and innocence make it kind of fun to listen too idle comments. The world is dense and almost overwhelming to to keep track of but it will take me hours upon hours to explore.

I don’t really like the way game saves work it has irritated me on several occasions.

They have fixed a lot of the issues I was having with the game at launch. I am actually able to play and enjoy it. Taking my time to explore the map and get immersed in the environment has been really nice. It really is a fresh take on Star Wars not having to play the role of a Jedi/Sith. I think if anyone other than Ubisoft made this game, it wouldn't have gotten the hate it did.

I hope you finish it, it has one of the best boss battles of all time about 70% in. It had me on my toes, absolute fun, I imagine it was a nightmare coding it.

I finally finished Outlaws and the Wildcard DLC last night. I put about 45 hours or so into the game. I was completely happy with the game from start to finish, aside from initial crashing issues.

I very much appreciate they opened up parts of the game where stealth was mandatory, being seen once resulted in a game over.
