TPU's take is that TPU is too far from the target audience. I made a Steam Deck Owners Clubhouse for those few of us actually interested.

I really dont get why people are so negative. This device is basically a lot more important to Valve than anything else, because it promotes Steam, selling games? I don't think it will fail. It's too polished for that.
It is the internet and a tech forum. Us tech enthusiasts have a reputation for being elitist and gate keeping. I have 150+ people ignored here for a reason.

If a hand-held x86 computer that runs Linux, utilizing the latest RDNA2 graphics tech from AMD, using an open-sourced compatibility layer to run native Windows games, designed and released by the largest PC gaming service is the tech equivalent of TikTok, it's apparent I misunderstood what this site was.

I think maybe W1z maybe thinks it's more relevant to the console user or handheld gamer sites. Not every tech geek will be drooling over this. It certainly has potential, I just want to give it some time after release to see how it goes. If it's a goer, i will get one for my switch and Snes/GBA emulators :) Bet i am on Nordics ignore list, i'm the TPU favourite person

Check out sites that review the handheld device. TPU doesn't cover every item that comes out and the same goes for other sites. I see nothing wrong with sites deciding on what they want to review, when they review these things and how they do it.

For example, sometimes TPU does some case reviews, but other places do them as well - more or different cases, even. I check out a few tech sites for reviews and I don't expect TPU to be the one and only site to review everything.

I'm certainly fine with This , W1zard went a bit beyond no thanks though, so now I wouldn't want it reviewed here, due to neg bias, I appreciate W1zards unbiased GPU reviews and other inputs without limit and accept time for everything doesn't exist , and I have no gears grinded , peace out.

I had to lol, let's talk again in 6 months
No problem I'm a 100% that it will be fine.
Don't mean to troll anyone, I'm just too far from the target audience of this and don't get it. Not trying to review Tiktok either
This has nothing to do with Tiktok, it's just a small handheld gaming PC for on the go. The styling speaks pretty hard against any Tiktok comparisons, this device looks rather serious, this is a no-nonsense device. Same reason why it will not fail.

I think people dont understand
THIS IS NOT A LAPTOP
THIS IS NOT A CONSOLE
It is a PORTABLE handheld console
Its competing with the likes of the Switch or The Vita
Dont compare it to anything but the Devices its competing against
This device has me very excited almost as much as the Orignal NDS did
it doesnt matter that it "lacks power"
as well as the fact this device can run my extensive back catalog of games unlike any other handheld
Im definitely getting this device as soon as i can in australia

This is a way more interesting device than Ningreedo's underpowered old tablet as I'm not interested for those few exclusives.

The battery life of Deck is probably the only negative thing for me after watching few reviews.

I am also very disappointed that they glued the battery in place.

After destroying the display on my old phone while trying to replace the battery (because it was held down with all of the glue in the universe and there was a cutout in the frame under it that exposed the back of the display), I feel that gluing batteries is an unnecessary step that just makes repair more difficult for no reason. Just use screws or other mechanical fasteners.

While it doesn't detract from my excitement for the Steam Deck, it is worth noting. What will I have to go through when the battery in mine decides to fail?

By what I have seen, it has a worst case battery life of 1.5 hours. If you cap your fps at 30 fps all but the most games should be 3-4 hours. There are further tweaks you can pursue if you want to extract every possible minute of battery life. Do you consider 3 hours insufficient?

Ah yes, a portable x86 gaming console that nobody wants (despite what the Valve fanboys claim) and will almost certainly be nothing more than a memory within a year. Honestly glad W1zz isn't wasting any time on this stillborn turd.

We already have those, they're called "laptops". Why you would want to even attempt to use a device without a keyboard or mouse as anything but what it's designed for, is beyond me.
Why call it a turd, why not just it "Steams Vaporware" LOL vaporized into nothingness

I think dropping alcohol from the sides would've been easier than whatever Linus did.

And Valve sent the units to literally 3 people outside of game developers. I hope Valve takes the feedback and uses weaker glue or pull tab in the production units.

So buy the 64, then you can buy any size M2 to replace it, depending on cost of course.

The battery's in these are going to die a thousand times over. I bet there are a ton of Chinese company's producing replacement battery's for these right now.

Yeah. The video said it's basically production unit. So production units will have the shitty glue as well.
Although removing the screen and then dropping isoprpopyl alcohol through the hole seems far more easier and safer then prying the battery off.

The Phawx tested Ryujinx, Yuzu, and RPCS3 on the Steam Deck in Steam OS.

Also a new video from everyone's favorite Canadian techtuber.

Linus mentions that he will be switching to it as his primary PC for a month to see how it is.
