Study Shows 6th Gen. AMD A-Series APU Cuts Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 50%

I think you could make far more impact on greenhouse gas emissions simply by turning off the hall light when you're not upstairs.

Reminds me of when I got a usb powered "green button" from AMD free with my order from newegg that reminded me I was saving energy by being able to push a button and turn on a bright green LED.

Someone forgot what saving energy is...

I also doubt this study included the carbon footprint that goes to making all those new components and PCs. Instead, focusing on benefits of thowing perfectly good hardware to a junk pile before its effectively obsolete.

This reminds of the Prius snobs out there. Sure, the Prius uses less gas and emits less CO2 on the road but it actually uses far more energy to manufacture then say a VW Golf which gets very good gas mileage. These AMD procs cut greenhouse gas emissions but if nobody buys them then they actually ADD to the net total green house gas!!!!
