suggestion for consideration of new subforum, "Audio Hardware"

Nice to see the suggestion has finally blossomed into a reality . . . I've only been pestering off and on about it since 2007 :laugh:

I like the current subforum title, it works and is to the point. I don't see how anyone could possibly confuse it for anything else.

. . . and it'll be wonderful to not have to wade through countless threads in GH to find something I'm interested in helping out with :p

If y'all end up needing an additional mod for that subforum, I'm willing to volunteer. I'm trying to hang back around these boards more often . . . real life had just kinda sucked me away for a while. I know our current handful of mods and admins have always had their work cut out for them, so if y'all need to lighten the work load . . .

Been wanting to see a sound section for some time and as a few said it could have a few other things linked to it too like HTPC's Blu Ray players even HDTV's and of course A/V's or just plain amplifiers.

As for my self i been using a A/V setup for like 6 years in the states and noticing more and more adopting to it and think it's about time the subject(s) were covered and easier to find for others.

PS. Glad it's been added.

I dont know about you, but those things i bolded all fit under 'home theater' in my mind, so yes they are included.

Good :).

It's a good step forward, to me i was into computers and faded into hifi then after a few year went back to computers then both come 2004 and more and mor people are getting into it as well as HiFi was dieing of at a point.

home theater and PC are almost linked nowadays - they share compatible screens and speakers systems, they both require internet connections or at least a local network to work nowadays (bluray requiring firmware updates, youtube/media playback via TV's) so that to an average person, they really are inextricably linked.


The olden days of a TV being used to just watch free to air TV and speakers being a single 3.5mm cord are long dead. you need to be a tech head just to setup a 5.1 sound system and link it to your HDTV and blu ray player.
