That's heart-warming but not true.
The release of 'next gen' consoles will change that.
On the other hand, the release on next gen consoles will save PC gaming.
Next gen consoles will have hardware capable of running titles that are worthy of PC. No more "DX9 console ports". ...for at least couple of years
Also, I'm hoping that XBOX7XX <> PC development will become more unified, and it will be cheaper (and commercially 'obvious') to develop to both platforms.
No, I believe it's to do with the way the sales stats were previously being reported, which artificially inflated console sales, plus the fact that consoles are now aging. Now that online PC game distribution is so successful, I think we'll see the PC once more become the benchmark that consoles have to look up to - and about time too.
I'm going to keep a watch on this game sales trend and will report continue reporting on it.
