Aw man, his memory is just trash for tweaking. That's all it is. He should be running 16-18-18's no problem with Gear down disabled. Gear down is fools play for a couple of reasons. It accommodates odd number Cas latency memory and generally allows 1:2 ratio to the memory controller. And since he's running 1:1, it's evident the odd primary timings are causing an issue as well as the peculiar secondary timings you've pointed out.

Maybe 3200mt/s to 3400mt/s and work the timings for latency instead. It'll probably be a lot easier to work with. The alternative, to trying to go faster than 3600mt/s would require loosening the primaries (probably a lot) and work the secondaries for efficiency. But realistically, just a better set of memory would go a long way. We all know the tweakers ddr4 suggestion....

I can't do 16-18-18-18. Any time I have tried I fail to post and have to restart. I know my timings are weird but basically I was trying to get the lower number I could get there while being stable.

Try the timings I gave you, it will probably improve performance a bit
Oh my gosh you weren't kidding. I got to 67.7ns on aida with 51.8k read speed. I only got the free version so I cant see anything else. Thank you so much

If I understand correctly you have CJR? It should only come as DR as 16gb, I dont understand why it reads as SR. If you set fitst timings to 18-22-22-22, ras to 40 and rc to 62, all other timings to auto, ramvolt to 1.4v, soc to 1.15v and iod to 1.05v see if you can boot 3666 then? If that works, try 3733.

It may be Hynix CJR read incorrectly as single rank. His bin is not so bad actually and CJR tends to do 3800-4000 easily I agree about gdm off, but if he has dual rank and a mediocre imc it can be tricky to stabilize. On the 1700 I tweaked gdm off is not possible at 3666. It is generally easier to run 8ff on 2dimm motherboards aswell.

I will try but every time I have done that it fails to post. I did even looser timings than the default xmp and still couldn't post. Im pretty sure I left all voltages on auto but I will try what you told me. About it saying single rank Im pretty sure thats a lie because I remember reading that my ram is dual rank. I forgot where. Edit: No way darn way you sir Cowboy must be buildzoid himself. It worked and I am running 3733 currently with the looser timings. How do the voltages work together? such as soc, iod and the other voltage names. I want to try to get to 3800mhz but with the voltages you gave me I can't post at 3800mhz with 1900mhz if

Good to hear. 3800 may not be possible at all, but you can try raising vddp to 950 and ccd to 1000mv first. If that does not work try soc 1.2v and iod 1.1v. If that dont work you probably cant run 3800 at all. Post zentimings running 3733. Dual rank often needs more soc and iod. If 3800 is no go try like 1.12v soc and 1.04v iod at 3733. If that works try 1.1v soc and 1.02v iod. Lower is probably impossible. Then try tightening timings
