My 5800x runs 1900FLCK 24/7, but 2000 no way, at least not with the last bios, though each bios allowed me do go a bit higher, hope the next one gets me close to 2000, the Ram sticks can take it.
In Fire Strike getting the Ram as fast all possible gets higher scores incrementally with my 6800xt. At least for Fire Strike, Ram speed helped me more than Gpu OC.
My 5800x was running 2000FLCK no problems, idk 2000 feels so satisfying :D not sure how much of a difference it makes for benchmarks

I'm running my 32GB dual channel RAM at 3733Mhz under an ambient temperature of ~33C. The PC won't POST at 3800Mhz unless the air-con is on, but POSTs at higher FCLK (3833, 3866 and 4k) and with WHEAs even if the ambient temp is high. For benchmarks, I always turn the AC on. I use Hydra to overclock the 5950x. The settings are different for each 3dmark benchmark. Time Spy and Time Spy Extreme are the most demanding.

Make sure you run benchmarks to check if your points have actually gone up. In my case, the sweet spot is 1900 FCLK. Anything higher than that leads to lower 3dmark/Cinebench points.

I made it. :D

My 5800x was doing great with FLCK 2000, 5900x was laggy as hell and scores were almost half. My 5950x’s sweet spot is 1800 though, it doing kinda fine but 1900/2000 would be cool.
Gratz on top9! Hopefully join you in top10 soon :D

Owner of the latter here. Great card and I cant really advise you to choose one over another, both should be kinda the same overall, its about looks now. Maybe if there is clearance issue go with Powercolor, it should be shorter, gigabyte is 28,5cm long

Heh, I was about to write the same, only I have the former. Haven't had the privilege of making a comparison, so ... I would assume both are good. I've heard people say PC cards often have poor cooler mounting pressure and thus high deltas between edge and hotspot temperatures - but I don't know if that is limited to air or not. Mine maxes out at a ~20-degree delta, and that's only when I let it run hot. That's not great for a water cooled card, but definitely nowhere near problematic in any way, nor anything that's likely to affect clocks, longevity, or anything like that.

thank you bro.
There is a lot of difference in performance between these models and the 6900 base, I'm also thinking about taking the base and taking a separate wb, what do you think?

There's not much difference between these cards in terms of performance. It doesn't really matter if you're just gaming. But if you're after benchmark world records, then you want the best binned card.

What post above says. If you are after gaming only and would like to experience what installing a wb feels like, then sure, go for the second option.

Anyone have any experience with grizzly conductonaut (liquid metal) as thermal paste?

After one month of using arctic mx4 paste on my 6700xt, it pretty much stopped working for me few days ago..

I'm back to 30-40c delta between normal and junction temp (was 20-24c when used mx4) with my "warzone oc" of 2774-2874mhz min/max 1140v, 2150 mem set on adrenalin.

Temp is not horrible tho, it's just 55-60/90-95c max, usually near 90.

5600x still runs fine (both cpu/gpu thermal paste were changed at the same time) on 4.65 all core with gaming temps ~55c max.

I'm just wondering what paste to try while keeping the same daily oc.

dear lord forgive me as I have sinned.

I loved my Hellhound 6700XT but it was kind of an overkill in my Gaming rig, I had an offer from someone at work who was ready to pay the equivalent of $900 for the card where I had paid only $700 back in September and I accepted the deal.

Could not leave my rig cardless obviously and I decided to go the lower end route and bought a Nitro+ 6600XT as a replacement. I know it sounds crazy but the card is amazing, it can pull my triple 1080p set-up nicely above 60fps even in AAA titles and also my 720p Plasma TV with VSR up to 1440p also at 60fps minimum

and with Amazon current campaign over here in Japan, I could get it for $550 so not too bad deal overall

At some point when this GPU market comes back to sense I will buy an higher Tier card again to put in my Gaming rig and move the 6600XT in the Living Room rig instead

again, don't get me wrong the 6700XT was a great card but I came to the conclusion that I didn't really need it in the End, hence the move

thanks to the Mods then for bringing my post back

I have spent some of my afternoon to do some Heavy gaming comparing the power draw of the 6600XT vs my 6700XT.

Same Game conditions (bunch of Simracing titles like AMS2, PC2 and ACC) focusing on OC/UV settings to minimize power consumption

Triple 1080p with Freesync @75hz Max draw 6700XT 120W 6600XT 135W
720p Plasma upscaled to 1440p @60Hz Max draw 6700XT 100W 6600XT 80W

What's interesting is that at 1440p the 6600XT is even more efficient! but then I need to crank up a bit Core/Memory clock on my Triple Monitor set-up to achieve the same fps than the 6700XT

but yes overall, even if that's embarrassing bit to bit in a lower Tier GPU crew now, I don't regret my choice. I might even put the savings I made towards a proper UW 1440p display if I can see some nice deal in the New Year Sales

Good purchase with the 6600XT - and thanks for these numbers!

Mid-range RDNA2 cards are amazingly efficient. I have a 6600XT from AsRock, the Phantom Gaming D model, running stock clocks and voltage. I haven't tested it in the latest games, as I don't play them, but I do have some numbers for power consumption. I'm also running a 3300X oc'd to 4.5 GHz on all cores, powered by a Platinum rated PSU.

In idle, the GPU uses mere 3w. The whole system consumes just 38w, as measured at the wall. I ran the Forza Horizon 4 benchmark at 1080p with V-sync on and all detail settings maxed out manually. On average, the whole system was consuming 110w at locked 60 fps.

As I don't buy into the "144+ fps or bust" craze and play mostly old titles, the 6600XT is more than enough for my gaming needs :toast:

Thanks

I also bought the Nitro+ as it has dual BIOS even adjustable from inside Windows through their TRIXX software

it’s risky though so I will possibly do it while the PC is off

I am planning to play with MPT if I see the card struggling if I buy the UW monitor and she has to push fps at even higher resolution

Yeah, these RDNA2 chips are insanely power efficient when tuned a bit for efficiency, I settled on 60FPS @ 3440x1440, and the power consumption is between 100 and 110w for normal games and between 120 and 150w for the most demanding ones with my 6800XT.

I mainly did this to see how much I can lower my electricity bill, and I was quite amazed by the result, the bill for the last 2 months was 30% lower on average, with everything else more or less the same, ok, I tuned the whole system for low power, but the results where a bit mind-blowing  I still keep thinking about the mantra many present when talking about PC power consumption and electricity bill consequences, that says the differences between a low power part and a high one is negligeable on the power bill, my findings strongly disprove it :)

yes, I surely 2nd that one regarding power consumption. my PC is running in this Gaming room 2 display set up a triple 1080p screens so max power draw of those is only 100W and then the 1st Plasma TV I bought when I arrived in Japan 15yrs ago......that is consuming 450W/h, no kidding
so the savings I made by selling the 6700XT and run my rig with the 6600XT are going towards a 3440x1440 monitor that will be draining max 40W/h.Win Win:peace:

Waiting for my RX VEGA64 Red Devil to bite it, then I'd be looking at perhaps the RX 6600 XT or RX 6700 XT, my VEGA64 struggles with newer games at 3440x1440, don't need crazy high framerate as monitor's an old Acer 75Hz Freesync model.

Boy you are going to love the power consumption vs the VEGA

I had a 64LC and pushing boundaries could take me to 300w

Even some intense UV to maintain 5760*1080 at free sync 75hz was nowhere near 200w

Came from a Vega64, also at 3440x1440, the Vega was barely keeping up at this resolution, I could get by, but I wanted a new one. My 6800xt is basically overkill right now, more than twice as fast and consuming less than half the power. I said it before, I am super impressed with the 6800xt, the last time I was this impressed by a card was the HD 4870 14 years ago :)
The Vega is humming along just fine in a friends PC.

I built a new system with the 6600XT and kept the old PC (in my specs). The oc'd HD7970 in there consumes 19w in idle, but in games it could go over 300w. The whole FX platform took close to 450w in some titles :ohwell:

My RDNA2 rig will use perhaps a quarter of that power while providing a much better gaming experience. Loving the efficiency!

I don't use my Vega much as I do my gaming on my main rig, the Vega64 + i7 3960X rig is my backup rig should there be an issue with my main rig. Here's hoping that the Vega64 lasts a fair bit longer as GPU prices, especially in my neck of the woods, can be mind numbing. For example, the 'cheapest' RX 6700 XT I can find on the local Amazon listing is ~1084USD for a reference model. I find it ridiculous that some RX 6600 XT's are being sold at higher than the reference RX 6700 XT. Hopefully this GPU pricing madness ends before my Vega64 does....:toast:
