The RX 6000 series Owners' Club

Just curious, anyone here got their mitts on the RX 6700 XT, or at the very least, have successfully ordered one?
I just check my local stores, they are available as we speak, but oh my sweet lord, the prices are insaaaaaaaaane.......
1100 EUR for a GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6700 XT EAGLE and 1150 EUR for a GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6700 XT GAMING OC o_Oo_Oo_O:kookoo::kookoo::kookoo:

Had anyone have issues with Control and Battlefield crashing when using Ray Tracing with the RX 6900XT? Is just weird that it does not happen with Quake RTX, haven't tried Call of Duty. I wonder if there is issues with AMD's drivers related to Ray Tracing.

Holy....Shiat! That's insane!!! My Sapphire RX 6900 XT cost me 1300+ USD (when I got it late December/early Jan), that's effectively 1105 EUR at present conversion rate, so my RX 6900 XT is actually cheaper than the Gigabyte RX 6700 XT Gaming OC!:eek::kookoo::kookoo:

Edit - BTW, just noted your location, I'm a Babylon 5 man myself....

He is behind me, you are in front of me :D

Btw, those prices are not ebay like sites, but normal e-shops, I got my 6800XT for 700 EUR, which is basically MSRP where I live, so seeing these 6700XT prices made me laugh hard

Delenn said that! (Referring to Sheridan, who was in B5 behind her ships, and the puny Earth Force ships in front of her). Told ya I'm B5 man!

Got the series on DVD, including the movies....sorry guys, I kinda went off topic. I get kinda excited when I talk about B5.

So installed the new driver 21.3.1, and just raised the values in the MPT a little. Power Limit GPU from 284W to 289W and TDC limit GFX from 340A to 350A.
The frequency and other settings are still the same as I posted here before look at the post: :D :D

This is how my score looks.:peace:
I could not believe my eyes that it is 20337. o_O

The Sapphire 6900XT Toxic that I tested produced 20500 max by pushing 368W core and 384A TDC and by default only 20200.

There is an orange exclamation mark in the score as driver is new and not verified by 3DMark. :p

any driver issues with the new one? I don't want to jinx my luck, the driver I have is spotless :D

Just installed the driver today 1.5hours ago.
I don't know if there are any issues.

I re-ran Time Spy to check if it was one time shot or I can repeat it.
Same setting as above, but it got even better. :rockout:

Just crazy. It seems that the new driver are helping. :toast:

I never tried to look in the 3DMark database before how high is my score was as I never cared about it but just now I was looking there and saw that my old best score was number 20 for 5800X processor in combination with 6800XT.

1616101507048.png

That was with unstable 2750MHz@1030mV setting.
The new setting are 2715MHz@1010mV which are so far stable in stress tests. :D
I need to check with games later.
The new AMD drive has a stress test built into it.

The new results are not verified by 3DMark as they don't recognize the new driver yet. The new score would be 8th place. :D:D

Editted:
I also re-ran the Port Royal again to check if I can reproduce the above result of 10336.
I came close to it with second run 10334. :D

1616102423203.png

The old Port Royal result was also number 20th and the new one would be about 9th.

Interesting, I knew about the internal stress test, read the driver release page, will give it a go, felt from the start that this time AMD prioritized stability first, I am really impressed with the current driver, not one issue of any kind in 3 months

Love B5 aswell, and to stay on topic, I wish the GPU manufacturers would go back to making cool designs like they used to, I would die for a 6800 series GPU with a B5 theme  Todays GPU's look more like fancy toasters

I ran some game benchmarks for the settings that I pasted preciously under post:

Borderland 3 benchmark:
The gain is around 10.4% on average FPS.

Borderlands3_comparisons.JPG

Results from Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
The gain is around 8.8% on average FPS.

With the 2715MHz@1010mV:

is that with the 6800XT and the new driver? 8-10%?????? Thats a lot for one driver revision, and I have not seen any notes in the driver release regarding improved performance

Ok, installed the driver....and booom, Time Spy went to 20512 (+700 points) and Port Royal to 10235 (+300 points) with the exact same settings as before...

Started CP2077, I have a save in the middle of the city where I "benchmark" the frames, old driver in that spot was 62-63, new driver is 69-70, that's insane, easily the most hard section on the GPU in that game for me!

2 TimeSpy Stable setts.png
2 Port Royal stable setts.png

Need to test this further, this are some tangible gains, almost to good to be true :D

Yes that is my experience also.
It seems that AMD did something in the background without putting note into the change log. :p
The performance is uplifted.
My card was really well tuned before so uplift comparing to my previous result under same setting is 2% in 3DMARK benchmarks.
It is 3% in Borderland 3 and 2% in Assassin's creed valhalla.

It is 9-10% comparing to the GPU running at default settings. :D:D

Yes it looks like that as also @Felix123BU noticed some nice performance boost with his 6800XT.

You can try it also and let us know if you also see improvement on 6900XT performance.:)

Installed it and saw a 400score increase in Time Spy. AMD Radeon Software is no longer working though..

@Felix123BU did you get that 20k Graphics score with a 6800XT or 6900XT?

when you install beta drivers you really should on the install screen, select clean install, and check the box that says keep user settings (you dont want to keep user settings), clean install prob won't give you any issues. amd software working just fine for me.

i'm getting higher FPS in games. noticeably higher. well done AMD. well done.

Yeah, will try to do a clean install later today. I just prefer doing a normal install, and reporting any bugs to AMD to help them out finding any bugs that I encounter

What really helps sometimes if you have driver issues is doing a cleaning with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller).

When a new driver comes out on my gtx 1070 laptop or my all AMD desktop, for a decade straight now when it asks if I want to do clean install of driver, i say yes, and no do not keep my settings. i have never had a single issue in all ten years.

this is the way.

never had to use that. i would avoid that unless my advice doesn't work, make that plan B @pat-roner

Me as well as @Felix123BU both have 6800XT. We both now have higher than 20K Time Spy score. :p

i'm getting around 15 fps more in WoW. no settings changed. can't believe it honesty, that's a pretty good free boost... really surprised the drivers don't advertise this. insane.

I had never had a problem with DDU. I used it multiple times in the last weeks especially when I was switching GPUs from 6800XT to 6900Xt and back to 6800XT.

I am still rather surprised by the increase that happens across everything I tested with this driver, though had not a lot of time to test too much, but very curious to do later today. Sweet driver, I would like more of this :D

I'm not telling him not to use it, just saying if my way works and he has no issues, I wouldn't bother.
Both the Clean install via the driver install and DDU work in theory the same, I also used Clean Install via setup or the AMD cleanup utility mostly until one time it did not remove everything and I had issues with some leftovers, so from then I only used DDU on each driver install and never had any issues from that time on. But again, in theory, both should achieve the same. I guess a lot of "driver issues" where historically happening because drivers where installed on top of each other :)

OMG I BROKE 17,000 TIMESPY WITH NEW DRIVERS!!!

THESE DRIVERS ARE FREAKIN INSANE!!! @W1zzard please do a new test against rtx 3080 with these bad boy drivers, AMD has knocked it out of the park mate!!! :rockout::rockout::rockout::rockout:
