Look in your nearest recycle bin for an old magazine. Its what i did when I didnt have a mouse mat.

::EDIT::

Or maybe you have some table coasters lying around.

I keep forgetting the UK is basically like the USA now, and my friend does have Prime, it will be here tomorrow. So, I will just order this. lol

RIP High Street.

Perspective is key. I drove the equivalent of Edinburgh - Southampton over the weekend. Twice.

And I can do that without even leaving the state I live in.
I could drive 16 hours and still be in the same province.........

Whiskey here, not sure

More perspective (I love these comparisons):

Population of Tennessee is about 7 million. 42,000 square miles
Population of UK is about 67 million. 94,000 square miles

UK is over twice as large as Tennessee, but has over 9 times the population.

More - England alone has 56 million people in 50,000 square miles.
So, England is a little larger than Tennessee but has 8 times the population.

Now I'm looking at pop density maps....
67M people wow. Population density indeed.

The great lakes combined is probably close to the same area.

Y'all have to huddle up to the US for warmth though. Why divide up land that is populated by polar bears and caribou?

I didn't know if I should click or not, will do. I just assumed the 100% meant not to bother with it.

there's still plenty of spare bandwidth, 100% is actually more like 70% of the network interface speed

i was here in october 2022 and it was pretty decent all that month from what I remember, it's not a big deal though, the rain honestly doesn't bother me, we had a drought this summer in the midwest where I live, i hate the dryness so much, so this is honestly really relaxing to me, i only dislike it when its time to walk the dog, because i'd like to buy a rubber or plastic full body poncho, but your culture frowns upon that and i can't buy one anywhere for some reason.

I found something for you. !!!! for you my friend. Great price. Its got all the EU PPE safety ratings and certifications. Absolute bargain!

No one's kids/grandkids here, right?

and 9 quid for 2 ice cream, what a rip off lol

i'm lucky i enjoy poor people food. tomorrow i am doing beans on a baked potato and some carrots.

i just wish i could find the crap (not healthy) cheese i buy in america, kraft singles, grilled cheese sandwiches taste so nice with that cheese.

i tried a couple frozen pizzas, i will say the frozen pizzas here don't compare to american brands, Red Baron and Tombstone frozen pizzas in America are 10x better

Nah, I consider myself lucky enough not to have kids. :D 9 quid for 2 scoops is definitely a ripoff, though.

It's literally everywhere. Just look at the bottom shelf of any cheese fridge of any supermarket.

And don't buy frozen pizzas, they're almost all crap. Try the chilled Morrison's Best pizzas (link), those are amazing, imo. :)

If you ever find yourself eatin some BBQ chicken, I can recommend the sauce in this recipe. It works well on burgers too. I was having a cook up around my Aunts house last year and we had all the regular off the shelf burger sauces - even the classic spicy burger relish and most preferred the one in the recipe.

These are my very favourite supermarket pizza. Admittedly, imported from Italy.

I've got it ordered with my Sainsbury order for the week.

Also, got some clotted cream (can't find this in USA), and some scones and raspberry jam. I haven't had it since 2022 during my last visit, it's not a mindblowing snack or anything, but it will be nice to have it again!

Should be a good delivery this week, I got baked beans and potatoes, i like to pour the beans over the potatoes. For some reason I can't find these kind of baked beans back home, my local grocery store only sells baked beans in bbq sauce not tomato sauce like here, and that just doesn't pair well with the potato.

Also, I got a ton of Skyr Icelandic yogurts, can't get those where I am from either. They are on amazing nectar price, less than half price.

During my 8 years living in this country, I've grown to love many things, but I still can't comprehend why English people like eating carbs with carbs and nothing else.

I've just had my first roast beef Sunday dinner at a pub. It was ok, but I don't think I will do it again. It was a very popular place and quite busy, I'm really just not a fan of that type of food. Maybe once a year I could do that, but I think most here do it every week.

What cut of beef ? Rib or sirloin will be way better than topside etc.

Not sure that many do it every week and more so given how pricey decent roast beef will be, in London anyway.

If we are not out on a Sunday we mostly have a roast, it's a good opportunity to get a load of veg down the neck as we tend to have 5 or 6 different veg, some Carvery's (what we call a buffet style roast dinner where you can choose exactly what meat & veg you want) can be a bit sloppy from some places though. I prefer Pork.

That's strange considering how much you seem to like British food. A carvery (Sunday roast) is probably the top of what British cuisine has to offer, imo. Oh well, each to their own. :)
