Thanks it does seem good, and LG do make the best panels.

It's literally the best panel you can buy outside of OLED, the UR91 is king.

bloody hell, I keep forgetting how spoiled I am in America. I can go get a 29" wheel mens bike with Shimano 21 drive on it for only 180 bucks, so what like 150 quid. I mean it's Walmart, it won't be great and it will have almost no shock absorption, but I don't mind standing a bit while I ride. damn, maybe I will just buy a bus pass
Old post but I bought a Saracen Mantra from FB marketplace for around £110 a month or 2 back, was probably £5-600 new, and obviously not one of the newer models but a very solid MTB for the price, disc brakes shimano gears, suspension, and there are other deals to be had if you look for them, curious if you managed to find one yet?

my trip is on hold sadly, the Airbnb I had booked decided to raise prices on me for the second half of the trip, by 300 quid a month. now every single Airbnb is over 1k a month USD, and I just can't afford that. so my trip is indefinitely on hold sadly, hence the reason I bought the 5600G APU under my system specs to hold me over until I figure out my next move.

I think we can all blame a lot of services shouldn't have been privatised :)

Just noticed that SCAN only stocks Corsair branded ram....

Yea noticed that a while back not bought corsair RAM for years, overclockers have a nice range, lot of teamgroup, G-Skill, Kingston, and ALSO corsair lol tend to stick to Amazon and Scan these days mostly, used to use eBuyer a lot back in the day but definitely not my go to for hardware now, some smaller outlets like CCL, Aria are also good to have a look for somethings if you can't get what you need/looking for from the bigger players, Box would have been one of those "other outlets" but have now been closed down as I understand, not much to pick from these days as prices are all pretty much the same, so take your pick, though shipping and returns Amazon is probably the easiest to deal with unfortunately

Aria have always been pretty solid. CCL HAS been good but they were taking part in the scalping during the Covid GPu shortage. Ebuyer used to be pretty good. Novatek (or novatech) are still around but I think they really downsized their operation

OCuK and SCAN seems to be the most popular

my friend got a mouse and keyboard from Box Co Uk website in 2022 I remember, so I just went there to see if they sell ram, and they are not in business any longer.. holy shit that surprised me, we honestly were impressed with the price, service, packaging, etc. damn that is sad to see.

i recently used ebuyer, was only a ssd, i did choose the free delivery (3-5 days) but it took the 6 days to even despatch it, and 10 days for it to arrive, i wont be rushing to use them again.

I choose that from Scan, CCL, Novatech etc, usually dispatches quicker than the estimate, no need for such shitty, oops, I mean shoddy business practices, and this is why their popularity has come down a lot over the years, let them make their bed and lie in it I say, not a fan of Amazon trumping everyone however.... there's no winner with a monopoly

Scan is one of the major "partners" with Corsair I believe, I mainly buy from Scan though for the free next day postage.
It is between Scan and the premium Overclockers is where I would buy comp parts for then Amazon for any little niggles like ethernet cable or usb hub.

OCUK is ok but the 8.99 postage pisses me off when you spend £400 on a motherboard.

This is why I force myself to participate in their forum to get their "free" next day delivery, not sure if it still works though as I haven't ordered from them in awhile.
Which I also did the same thing on Hexus to get free delivery from Scan.

I'm banned off their forum. There are a few too many fidiots on there, and some of the mods are totally biased and not neutral at all. They even have a setup where if you are banned and try using the forum as a guest, you get blank screens and other crap too, and no i'm not being paranoid. imo it's a crappy boys club forum full of ass kissing circle jerks

Aria have stopped trading since 2022, Scan has only sold Corsair ram for at least a decade as far as I can remember. I have never been a fan of Overclocker's but they have improved in recent years, I Tend to use Scan, AWD IT or Ebuyer pretty much exclusively these days.

Oh shit. I didnt know that Aria closed its doors. I was predominantly an Ebuyer/SCAN guy although i did occasionally buy from Novatek and OCuK when the others were OoS on things I needed. Ive bought a few things from AWDIT and they seem to be pretty good with pricing although maybe lack the range as the more established retailers.

Real shame that Aria closed. They honestly seemed to be one of the better retailers out there from what ive heard.

I do a lot of my parts buying off Amazon these days as their prices fluctuate quite a lot and occasionally something ive got my eye on will have a good discount. Amazon returns also 100% easier to deal with as well.

I do like the fast despatch and shipping when it comes to SCAN though. That has always been one of the areas they really excelled in. Although Last time I shopped with them, Their website used to lie about stock levels. 10+ parts/pieces in stock didnt always mean they had 10+ pieces sitting on the shelf in their warehouse and that annoyed me a whole lot as either your entire order would be delayed or they'll ship the order but without the item they havent got in stock and they wont notify you about any of it at all until you go out of your way to chase up your order or to ask why something is missing/hasnt been shipped etc.

Ive ran into them lying about stock levels on multiple occasions so I am weary of SCAN. I used to do system builds for people with a lot of parts coming from SCAN. minor delays I can take but customer service there often didnt know about ETA on stock shipments so SCAN was a little unreliable. I dont want to be that asshole guy that is always calling them up and asking where my stuff is so even if amazon costs slightly more. I would buy from there or elsewhere knowing that i'll still get it within the next day or two.

I got sneaking suspicion its going to boil down to Scan, Overclockers, maybe Ebuyer and Amazon as the main comp parts&peripherals sellers in the UK.
CCL somehow doesn't have as many "new" items available in comparison, almost as if the other 3 are able to get stocks first.
The only thing saving "Currys" from going bust is they sell home appliance and TV if we want to throw them in the mix.

Just went on to Awd-IT for a look... They really need a better layout. You have to constantly click on 'Show filters' to go much of anywhere.

I have noticed with Novatech and CCL that they seem to have much lower stock levels than they used to, I rightly or wrongly put that down to the current financial climate and in relation to the others we have mentioned are a bit smaller so are stocking less in order to not stockpile stuff that is not selling as fast currently.

I usually stick to scan, and ocuk if my stick needs poo on the end(if i have to) Never had any issues with scan and i usually find they are cheaper than OCuk

They don't have marketing power like the other 3, which doesn't really help I guess.
When you look at scan and overclockers, they both have managed to keep up with the current social trend with using "influencers" to help promote their stores.
I've not been to the Overclockers store but I did go to Scan a couple years back and the inside of the store was nicely presented with parts, cases, laptops and monitors.
They had like 2 other main warehouses where they have other parts stored, while the main store when I went they managed to provide me a replacement laptop within 5-10 minutes.
If I lived near Manchester, I would probably commute to Scan to pick up comp stuff directly from them as you can arrange a pick and collect as well.

Also semi-relevant issue here. 99% of my sourcing of parts used to be from a place called YoYoTech or GHSTech near Tottenham Court Road. Neither of which are around anymore (YoYoTech name still exists but they dont deal in retail anymore and GHSTech was bought out by a competitor who trades under the name 'Epsilon Computers' - Never found their prices to be fair and the shop owner told me my warranty was gone the moment I opened the box if I bought something from them. Go figure...) and most of the shops that did sell tech there have either turned into coffee shops or furniture shops for upper class people.

I would like if any of the big IT retailers (Other than Currys...) were to have a store or warehouse in london where I could collect but I know that will probably never happen now as rent is super expensive.

:EDIT:

I can imagine you drifting into SCAN Carpark in your GT86...

Surprise to see the Razer store in London is still around and open.

Good location i guess. I didnt know Sainsburys moved in right next to them.

I remember them building the Razer store a while back but ive never actually been there in person. I really should go check it out.

Would have been funny..but now I think i'll end up driving into the store entrance with too much VTEC.
