Thermalright today introduced the Phantom Spirit 120 SE premium air-type CPU cooler. The cooler features a dual fin-stack (type-D) design. Seven 6 mm-thick nickel-plated copper heatpipes make indirect contact with the CPU through a nickel-plated C1100 mirror-finish copper base, passing through two aluminium fin-stacks. Two 120 mm fans are included, which can be installed that one of them pushes fresh air through the first fin-stack, while the second one acts as a conveyor, and is located between the two fin-stacks (typical type-D cooler arrangement).

Each of the two included TL-C12B V2 fans takes in 4-pin PWM input, turn at speeds of up to 1,500 RPM, pushing up to 66.17 CFM of airflow, at 1.53 mm H₂O static pressure, and a maximum noise output of 25.6 dBA. The fans feature fluid dynamic bearings. With the fans installed, the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE measures 130 mm x 125 mm x 154 mm (LxWxH), weighing 1.03 kg. Among the CPU socket types supported are LGA1700, AM5, AM4, and LGA1200. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Thermalright keeps pumpin em out! Another 6mm, 7 pipe, dual stack sink to crack heads with.

TPU, you guys going to get any Thermalright gear to test? You have tooooo.

so basically the peerless assassin 120se with an extra heatpipe?

Looks like it, LxW dimensions are identical

It looks like a budget cooler though which is nice, I'd take it over the PA120 for the right price and if I can't find FC140. Need a bigger cooler for my next case anyway.

If it's priced higher, though, not so sure, as the fans are pretty cheap. TR already has their new GT/A12x25-esque 120mm on the Ultra120s.

I just wish availability was a bit better in Canada. Deep down I am very partial to TR, but have been hesitant after my early adopter Silver Soul 135 off Aliexpress had a pockmarked coldplate that scratched my 5900X's IHS. Then again, my Big Shuriken off Amazon was "sold by Scythe" but arrived in such bad shape that I spent about an hour straightening things out again.

I wonder if this is why the pa 120 has been so cheap, moving out stock to make room for this new model? Then again the pa 120se hasn't been out that long. Either way, we need some brave soul to do some reviews...

Looking good!

The reason why I keep buying their coolers is because they are so damn good :)

I picked up FC140 over a month ago for ~$60-20% so a bit over $50 out the door after taxes. I got the black one but they have the deal on all three of them. This 20% was still there the last time I checked. Idk if you can use the US amazon and ship to Canada but TR availability here has been abundant.

FC140 is their best cooler at the moment

Should be a good cooler for high-end CPU's.

-40w better than PA120

Hmm.. that should make it about as good as FC140..

What are you saying.

It has 7 heatpipes, there'aren't many CPU coolers with 7 heatpipes like my Noctua NH-U12A...

I am saying the extra pipe should add an extra 40w of thermal capacity. My Le Grand Macho RT also has 7x 6mm pipes.

It would be interesting to see the two tested against one another

typically an extra heat pipe can add 20-40w of thermal capacity depending on the surface area and fin density (as told to me by professional testers) but I believe your Grand Macho has a far denser heat sink.

I was boxing up some old pc stuff and took apart a TR extreme120. I have its original box too I bought it in 2011 and still looks like new. Just rinse them with soapy water and let dry on occasion.

Yup I still have mine from 2007, and now the new one from 2022 that is on my 5600X :D

so no peerless or frosts available in the UK and we're already moving to phantom spirits. Might just pull the trigger on a deepcool AK

As much as I go for black coolers these days, that looks like another beast to top the air cooler charts with

Edit: Oooh it's black from above. Likey.

Look at that baseplate, no silly exposed heatpipes there.
You can imagine a single central fan being used for a stealth cooler easily with this.
