Thermalright has this week introduced an updated version of its True Spirit 120 CPU cooler, the 'Rev. A (BW)'. Pictured below, the cooler features 48 aluminum fins, four 6 mm copper heatpipes and one 120 mm black/white fan operating at 600 to 1500 RPM (up to 28 dBA sound output), and it comes bundled with a mounting kit providing support for Intel LGA 775/1366/1156/1155/2011 and AMD AM2(+)/AM3( +)/FM1/FM2 processors.

The True Spirit 120 Rev. A (BW) can be found here priced at €25.99.

I didn't even know thermalright was still around, but this looks like a decent budget cooler.

~$33.77 USD (according to google’s currency converter) isn’t too bad for a ThermalRight True class cooler IMO. Nice to see it supports all the current sockets as well.

Kinda looks like their ultima 90
Though exposed copper isn't TR's style. They used to make em nickel plated

And what is "true class" btw? this is the only "...true..." cooler i know of from TR. The original TRUE stands for ThermalRight Ultra Extreme (120)

True Spirit is really good cooler, especially for the price it costs. This versions seems to be identical to original, but with different fan.

Why shouldn't they be? TR make great coolers. True Spirit, Archon, HR-02, Macho, Silver Arrow - to name a few. Silver Arrow stands very close to NH-D14 and PH-TC14PE, btw.

It seems tho that TR products are not sold by major US stores :wtf:

Thought they closed shop as well, a shame really as they made/make some of the best air coolers! Still rocking a HR-03 on my 5870 and if i wasn't looking for low noise i'd still be rocking my VenomousX on my skt 775! Hopefully they get whatever sorted and bring us some more innovative, high performance air coolers :)

Nice cooler, but...no heat-pipe direct contact, no continous direct contact (HDC+CDC), I'd still go with the value CoolerMaster.

DHT is not a must for high performance, look at the NH-D14

Yeah, I know. I just like the feeling that I am supporting the New. Even if it's not significantlly better than the old-tech. :)

I'm using the TR Silver Arrow and its a beast! cools quietly and bests the NH-D14 though only by 1-2C. No way is Thermalright a dead company. Their high end coolers also beat many AIO water coolers except the H100. I have used the previous True Spirit from TR and it goes toe to toe with the original Thermal Right Ultra Extreme 120.

The Original TRUE also has a Revision A, B, C with the latter being the best one.

And back then the TRUE Spirit was always considered a budget version.

I loved their tower style northbridge coolers, dunno if they still make them. I once used one to cool my old X1950 while I got a replacement fan for the stock heatsink.
