Thermalright Ultra 120 Full-Copper On Sale this Month

No... I'm realistic, what do you expect over another good cooler with a 120mm fan...

Let's be honest here, my 92mm on my AC, with a 120mm behind it stays ice cold to the touch, it literally cannot move the heat fast enough to get rid of it any faster... So that one with 2 120s, would be pretty much a waste, it will move heat slightly faster, but honestly what are you going to drop from a pretty decent air cooler 1 maybe 2c in certain spots...

Far from worth $100, and not enough to make any difference, you're not going to pull any more overclock off that.

better than what I get with my TRUEBLACK and under high voltage with a quad nothing but water can touch it.

what? are you crazy.
Dude for that price, you can get a coolit eliminator which will undoubtedly perform better. From what I've seen, I think the eliminator is probably the best cpu cooler you can get for ~$100.

yes be we are talking a regular air cooler and a coolit eliminator is not a air cooler.

right, but does it really make a difference? my point is that the price for this particular air cooler is unjustified. the excuse that it's easy to setup doesn't really apply since the eliminator is all-in-one and pre-plumbed/sealed so it's just as easy and maintenance free.

coppppppppppppppppper=coooooooooooooooler

Better sure, but not to any point that matters is my only point..

It's like sure technically 4-4-4-12 ram timings is "better" but are you going to "see" the difference over 5-5-5-15? Highly doubtful except in benchmarks...

there is also buying something for it's quality and then performance.

Not saying anything against its quality, just its price, and you know there is a pretty heavy premium on it because of the limited production.

have ever owned one of these?

I know copper needs more airflow then aluminum to cool right,, it would still be nice to have, if someone wants to buy it for me.

You guys are talking like this will actually cost you just $100... (yes I said "just"). If they really are making only 2000 of these I'm sure there's going to be a hefty price premium on one of these...

Seems "cool" though.

umm, I thought paying $100 already was the price premium.

I think it's $100 MSRP... no doubt retailers and/or private resellers are going to jack up the price on this.

k, so is there no way to order directly from thermalright?

Unless they change the mounting system to stop that easy spin the TRUE has, I don't see this performing better than the other TRUE's.

there is nothing wrong with how the true performs weather it turns or not.

That isn't quite true. I did the washer mod and my temps went down another 5C which is a significant drop when you are pushing your oc's to the limits.

i did that mod too, along with lapping and removing the metal cover off my motherboard :)

I didn't add washers and I push the envelope all the time with zero trouble and since Thermalright says the TRUE is not flat on purpose, because it is designed that way as apart of the mount mech mines not lapped. I get great temps. There are several reviews where the TRUE was lapped and it made zero difference.

As far as lapping it depends on the bottom of the sink. For this copper version, I wonder if it is going to be exactly like the current version or if it will be a core contact. Bottom line for me is to wait for results and see if they justify the price over my current TRUE setup.
