Thermaltake today unveiled LCD Panel Kits for the Ceres 500 mid-tower case the company had launched in January. The cases have a preparation for this optional accessory, but don't include them. The company released black- and white- color variants that match the variants of Ceres 500 cases you have. The LCD Panel kit replaces a portion of the horizontal partition of the case, with a 3.9-inch color LCD display panel with 480 x 128 pixels resolution, that faces the left side. This panel interfaces with TT RGB Plus 2.0 software over an internal USB 2.0 connection, and can be made to display just about anything. By default, its home-screen puts out weather data that TT RGB Plus 2.0 pulls from the Internet, but the screen can be made to put out real-time system monitoring stats for system cooling, among other interesting things. The LCD Panel Kits for Ceres 500 are expected to be available from March 16.

That is odd location for the LCD panel kit, it should have been on front panel(on the bottom lip or tiltable from top) to be anywhere near useful for how that PC case is intended to be kept.

The new trend in PC Case ...
Hmmmm, the new trend everywhere, in cars, on keyboard, on WC pump, on fridge ...

I think it is exactly where it is intended to be kept. I have my case window facing me, so this I/O + LCD panel is the right location that I need them to be if I had to use this case. If this case's front is towards you: you loose the eye candy from the window and the USB panel will be on the side??

idk the panel reminds me the pentium ii/iii slot 1 cartridge cpu, i'm surprised the micro usb still alive! may possible to be a direct cable to LCD panel,

Thermaltake pushing the realm of what's possible by slapping a weather app on it!

I can't tell if they are trolling the buyer or their internal RND teams.

By the looks of the size of the screen i can only assume in a few months they will release an XL or XXL version.

How long we've got before an LCD panel replace the window side of a case ?
