Hey guys, I wish to power the following system on this power supply : http://ijk.com.au/branch/ijk/product_info.php?cPath=23_41&products_id=115841

System:
E7400 @ Stock=70w
4GB DDR2 800MHZ
4x120mm non L.E.D fans+1x140mm non L.E.D fan=30w total
500GB WD Caviar Black=15w
768MB/1GB GTX 460=150w/160W

Total consumption should be only rougly 300w. The psu is 450w continuous and 550w peak. It should be ok right?

Look at a Corsair TX650. that should be perfect.

I would dish out the cash for this

I just blew my money on 6850 cf and Asus Crosshair IV Formula, on a budget. Would it work with the psu in my original post?

uhh you would be cutting it close. because that PSu probably doesnt have very good voltage regulation, ripple suppression, and probably has a weak 12v rail

Might as well try, worst-case scenario it won't turn on (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong).

I have the stats if you want. As follows:

DC OUTPUT: /+3.3v +5v \ /12v+1 12v+2\ /-12v +5vsb\
Maxoutputcurrent.: /22a 25a \ /18a 18a \ / 0.5a 0.5a\
Combined / 165w \ / 360w \\/ 18.5w \

__ Total 431.5w _+ 18.5w = 450w continuous Combined peak wattage 550w. Enough to power it?

Recommended minimum psu for the card is 450w

As you can see, this system has ran a GTS 250, which uses more power than both versions of the GTX 460, it should be fine IMHO.

Have a look at this, currently in this rig I'm running a GTS 250, which uses more power then a GTX 460 1gb. I have no problems at all, so it should run the GTX 460 1gb fine. Right?

Thankyou, yes this system is just when guests come over, and I put it in my lounge to game on my 60 Inch plasma downstairs. The GTS 250 was slowing down a bit at 1920x1080, this GTX 460 should improve perf alot. :D Would anyone else like to verify it will run?

That Gigabyte PSU should work fine.

so far south you wouldn't understand
i think this Cooler Master GX Series psu is perfect for u,hope it can help u out.
Good luck!

That's the exact PSU I have, and it rocks. Silent and affordable. How awesome is that? But your system should be fine with your current PSU, just don't go on any wild overclocking runs. :)

:wtf:

I was about to post something sarcastic about PSU elitsm but changed my mind when it turned out 3.3V ripple was out of spec. Not good.

But that antec is out of price range as well, so I still think the original Gigabyte Superb will do the trick.
