It is no doubt appreciated... just looking for ways we can help. Maybe less complaining about too?

Perhaps copy the DB to a test server, prune there, test, and when its ok, dump it back here during off hours??

So, how can we, the members, help reduce the amount of 502 and 'live' fixes that happen here? Can we donate for another backup server? A test server? Something? These past few months and all the problems are starting to leave a pretty sour taste in my mouth.

As always you efforts are appreciated (more than you know, and less than I am sure you hear), but I think its time to figure out a way around these issues which feel like they are happening more frequently as time goes on...

You're not imagining it, it's really happening more often. By the looks of it, it's due to the shear amount of posts/data that now comprises the core of TPU that's causing the problem, as per W1z's 800 million rows, below.
Hopefully this will get sorted out soon.

Can't do. New rows are getting added live

...then reintegrate only the additions to the table once pruning is complete?

Sorry, db's are not my thing so, just throwing stuff on the wall there...

We do this at an enterprise level, I know for sure... just not exactly sure how it can be done at this level with a reasonable amount of effort and or money spent.

Anyone find that Image Hosting is not working? I was trying to upload some pics for a For Sale thread. It comes back with This page can't be displayed.

I got around it by embedding from OneDrive. I just thought @W1zzard might want to know about it.

Yes I went there. It was small, like 331kb. The page wouldn't even load though, was the point I was trying to get across.

Tried to remove the bit where you inserted "<asshat" which did not seem to correct the code. So I had to delete your last post and the one following to get the post structure back to normal.

The problematic "<asshat" code is actually at the end of mrk's post. When I quoted it, it broke the layout. Anyone who quotes his post will break the layout again.

Not sure if I fixed the larger issue, but it seems the posts are not stacked horizontally now.

And, the TPU logo and header appear at the end of the page... not the top.

My mistake, I did not see it in his post until I tired to edit it. I have removed it and quoted his post, and it seems to work for me, now! Carry on and see if you can break it again.

Hey W1z, waddya do to the TPU infrastructure, the forum is super snappy right now, especially when I hit the post button.

Have you upgraded the hardware, or is it just software optimization?
