As regards the £5 PC I bought on Sunday I can,t see it weighing 33 lbs o_O
I am trying to work out how to get all the cards out of it and those grey cabals :(Any ideas?o_OI don,t know why they can,t just have screws, instead of the green plastic they have on there.o_OI have a plastic bit I can fit where the floppy drive goes , but can,t find it.o_O I don,t suppose anyone knows what case it is.o_O
From here it looks like you push the black plastic ball to the right to unlock it, then push it up to release the green tab holding the add-in cards.

BTW, they call that a tool-less design & consider it a feature! I know, most of us don't see it that way.

Finally got the 939 to run with 4GB worth of DDR400 no less, lmao.

Next step in making the most silly 939 machine is probably getting a HD4650 512MB I have posted a while back to actually POST on this mobo.

I have not tried it yet. I have been printing the basic manual pages for my
Asus P8H61-MX motherboard and I think the ink has run out. See the picture it does not say the ink. Ink costs the earth. :(The black ink has a yellow sign by it.do I take a chance on getting these

COLORETTO 305XL Ink Cartridge Replacement for HP 305 XL £34 or pay a lot more for the HP rip-off ink. I must admit I always buy the non-HP version I have only had one that did not work. I wish I had shares in ink.

I got the origanal HP ones they were the same price COLORETTO
ones. o_O

That's very impressive. I'm sure we all would love to see more pictures, if you don't mind... :D

Have you overclocked it? How far can you push FSB with Wolfdale? Max DRAM frequency? Which Volterra FETs were used? Wondering if it's the same VRM as the AB9 QuadGT. :)

I don't know of many DDR3 Abit boards at all, the only other I'm aware of is the (unreleased) IX58 Max.
View attachment 279563
There are some DDR3 only boards: The IP45 GT3 & Max boards + IX38 GT3/Max variant. I don't know how many prototypes were manufactured or sold to this day, about 10 years ago some IP45 Pro owner complained about bios bugs and of course compatibility issues with his board. Only the IX38 GT3 were somewhat available around 2010-2011 with the IP43 board. Personally I don't know exactly what is the OC limit in general, they say above 2GHz with 1 ram kit is almost guaranteed with Wolfdale CPU-s, my mobo is very OC friendly with my good old Q9550S CPU maxing out at 490FSB valid, 480FSB 24/7 OC, with Wolfdale my estimation is somewhere between 680-700FSB with the right cherry picked E8500/8600 CPU.:peace:

GIGABYTE GA-7VA USER MANUAL Pdf Download | ManualsLib

That must be the worst way to hold cards in. :( The best way is to screw them in.:)Or the way Dell does it with a bracket on the back that you push down to lock it.:)I done it.It is easy when you know how.:)What is that first slot going to it with the red cable and the grey cable on it?The other grey cable that i pulled out seems to be USB i can,t see where it goes back o_OI could only see a basic manual for the board.o_OI am hopeful that the PSU is good.it can,t be that old with the black cable and being semi moduler.:)The thing outside the case fell out i don, know where it came from 1053o_OI can,t see a manual for it Gigabyte GA7VAXP REV 1.2.

That Gigabyte board looks like a nice socket A AMD board. The Gigabyte site still has all the support stuff for ver 1.x (all version 1). Hopefully you can get it going at some point.

The slot one in the case is the fan speed switch for the Cooler Master CPU cooler.

Look at those caps. The board was working (the last time I've checked, maybe 10 years ago). It's a Compaq D310 EVO, with:

Which was paired with this:
IMG_20230118_150356.jpgIMG_20230118_150317.jpg
And with a 768MB of RAM. Yeah, it was a slow ass machine, but it made me tweak the hell out of Win XP to be able to play anything. Total ram usage was around 450MB idle, as I can remember. 128MB was reserved for the GPU IIRC.
Played a variety of games including Morrowind, the game that set the foundations of my gaming taste, and doomed me forever by spoiling me towards the open world. From that time onwards, I can't play linear 1st or 3rd person games at all.

Thanks once again 68Olds :)The blue heatsink as you can see the connecter that you use for the screw on the board, is not broken, I don,t know how it came off?o_O See photo. Do I need to put it back on?o_O The cards in 1061 have no value, do they?o_O They must be obsolete by know.

Just a few hints for your GA-7VAXP,
the blue "thing" is a Zalman ZM-NB47J northbridge passiv cooler. It replaced that "Gigabyte 8X" aktive cooler shown in post 16137. One mounting plate is still in your cooler, the other is still screwed in your motherboard. There is only one missing push pin for the plate stuck in the cooler.

DSC01061 shows a green "Via VT642A 3 port SATA & IDE PIO Controller PCI card" or similar, a Tevion TV/ ViVo PCI add-on card, a 3-port firewire IEEE 1394 breakout and a 4-port USB breakout.
The Tevion (aka Medion) is TV add-on card with TV tuner for (analog-)antenna. And can still be used to digitize VHS videos using a VHS recorder.
The Tevion can't work with DVB-Tx, D from DVB means digital, the Tevion is analog in only.

Thanks for all that Tom :) I tried to take out the screw with the spring on it out but it want come out.:(I put some thermal grease on it but that did not work.o_O How can I get it to stay on?o_OI suppose i should not have taken that grey cable out I see it has USB ports on it where do I put the cables o_OWhere do I put the 4 port USB breakout connectors to the board? Can I use it without that heatsink on it or how to get it on there? I knew it was a heatsink I was talking about the connecter for the TV unit in the photo below. at the front of the case. Where is the missing push pin stuck in the cooler? If you can ring this as 689lds does. :)

Oh hey, I think I had that cpu cooler.
It is easy if you know how. but I would rather have just screwed in.ones :)Someone on another forum had the same problem with the Passive heatsink falling off here
.*The easiest thing for you to do now, assuming those retainer hoops have to be replaced, and irreparable, would be to get yourself a new northbridge heatsink. Those are relatively cheap and come with their own retainer hoops. *It is not worth it if it does not work. The person who asked the question said could they glue it on. But a person answered him and said no. Would it work with s thermal pad? It does not look like it has broken off Or there was another one on the other side of it.
is this what i need to do?All though i can,t see where the other one came off.Plus the fact the pasive heatsink only has one connector. It id a right pain that it did come off. :(

I am trying to get the motherboard out of the case but the screws are so tiny :( Even this tiny screwdriver can,t do it in 077 i suppose it needs a more robust one to get a grip on it,And how do i get the cooler slot out with that big thing on the outside of the slot i have tried unscrewing it to no avale:(Why he put such screws with tiny heads on there i don,t know. :( I don,t want to pull on those cooler wires in case i break themo_OHe has only got four screws in there. It is a right pain that the northbridge fell off one of the pins are missing. Can i try it without the northbridge on there? After all the seller did say there was a fault with it ,but said it went to bios.I don,t want to waste time or money on it if it is not going t work when it only cost £5.

Thanks, Agent :)It would only be to test it, the seller said it booted to bios but thought there was a problem with it. So i don,t want to pay for more than I paid for the PC. That would defeat the object.o_O If I can get it to work that would be another thing. :)i have got something on the screen the button on the front does not work well you have to push in for some time the bottom DVD cd unit does not open. I hope you can make on what is on 1102 it is hard to take a picture of the screen in here.Freedos?o_Oi don,t think it is worth bothering about getting this to work. the thing is i can,t get the motherboard screws out there to tiny,
