Another very welcome addition to the collection, and one I'll enjoy testing as not only a current viable option, but as the (or at least one of the) fastest card you can run on Windows XP, especially being one of the faster among the factory oc models, faster than a stock Titan X / M6000.

Palit GTX 980Ti Super Jetstream 6G

I always forget that 10 series isn't supported in XP. 980 Ti is still a nice card even today, the only drawback being its power draw when compared to modern but similar performing cards.

So true. I achieved similar performance on a friend's 4060 only using 58 W. More than four times lower than in 980 Ti.

Well the dell inspiron e1405 is back to Vista... xp wasn't working right and the power mgmt was batshit bonkers, required 2 reboots a day too cuz it would suddenly get very sluggish to the point of a hard reboot needed...

Tried everything to fix it and it got worse.. I know this thing ran Vista much better and more stable so...

Yeah after playing around a bit with it, it's so stupendously overkill for XP, at least on the monitor/s I'm using. Would need to try 1080p120+ FPS or even 1440p to start making decent use of the power on tap.

In a modern setting I agree it's still nice, it's broadly equivalent to the A2000 in my sons/living room PC which IMO performs really well with reasonable expectations. And as you say, the biggest drawback is power consumption, the A2000 with an OC outperforms it while using <70w, so over 3x as efficient. Crazy how far we've come and the A2000 isn't nearly as efficient as the A4000 SFF Ada.

I got a bit bored and I found out the HD 4870 has native composite out...

Looks better in person, could be good for emulation I suppose @ 480i

Yeah, doesn't it work just with a S-video -> composite adapter?

A2000 is still a nice card though, I always forget that when thinking of the fastest card without a power connector. Too many videos from Youtube of RTX 3050 6GB I guess

It's honestly fantastic and OC's like a champ to boot. Would be nicer in the 12GB variant but I was SUPER lucky to land this one second hand for ~$200 USD more than a year ago, I haven't seen one anywhere near that price since then.

Not even that, the 7-pin "s-video" port has a pin for composite video. I guess it combines the s-video's chroma & luma on the card itself instead of using an adapter cable.

The Adaptec seems to be a video capture card...

Not enough detail to figure out the other one.
Thanks for that

To many ,but not as many as as a lot on here.16.Two of them are Macs a Mac mini 2012 unfortunately that was the only one that was the less Desirable i5 modal :( And a IMAC 2017 27 3.5 which is my main one.Plus i have a pi4 and pi5.The unusual thing about the 2012 Mac minis was that they had two drives in them and that you can put more ram in there. Unfortunately one of the drives stoped working.I took it to someone who repairs Mac,s.i bought the connector off eBay and took it to guy but he was unable to get it to work:(.I don,t know weather it was a dodgy connector or not.I was a bit cheesed off to say the least :( The 2012 Minis were very unique in that you could upgrade the Ram and the two drives.I do like those Minis. In fact i will be getting one of the in the near future
Its an amazing product as you can see.and at less than £600 its a steal at that price.I guess a lot of Windows users will be buying one.

Only with the modded drivers set released a few years ago.
I modded them myself but yes the point stands, it's adding two lines (per card you want to use) to an ini file.

I was put off when thinking about modified drivers at first but this one was so simple, and it seems odd that other same generation/architecture cards are natively supported but others aren't, feels like a no brainer to add in the missing cards to me. I absolutely love the little K1200 in the low profile clones - and not to mention it's still overkill just not to the same wild degree as this 980Ti.

This seems a decent PC from the time it came out.

ASUS VENTO TA-M2 Chassis with Maximum Thermal Performance and User-Friendly Setup

ASUS, producer in top-class computer chassis, has today released the new ASUS VENTO TA-M2 Chassis. This stylishly designed chassis utilizes a sturdy and visually-pleasing design that incorporates a user-friendly screw-less design for easy installation; while providing an advanced ventilation system that maximizes thermal efficiency for key components—especially the CPU and graphics cards.

Maximum Ventilation for Exceptional Thermal Efficiency

The VENTO TA-M2 is able to support 1 front LED, 1 rear and 2 side LED 12cm fans that provide optimal airflows and maximized thermal efficiency. Additionally, the side panel fans are located on an adjustable plate for easy adjustments according to heat requirements. This is especially useful to target specific hotspots and lower CPU and video card temperatures for the best thermal advantages and the most stable PC performances. The VENTO TA-M2 also features a mesh design for the front panel and side panel for maximum ventilation, helping to expedite airflow within the system to achieve exceptional thermal efficiency—especially for ODD devices. Furthermore, unique venting holes found around the HDD racks enhance ventilation for hard disks to provide stable PC operations. The VENTO TA-M2 also provides extra “headroom” to fit either a single graphics card of up to 380mm or SLI/Crossfire cards of up to 280mm, providing users a great flexibility of choosing VGA cards.

Something went wrong there :( Plus the fact it had a video capture card.in the PC, I have never seen one on a PC before. Thanks to 68olds for telling me what it was.:)The board seems a decent one:)I doubt if it has a Quad cpu in there.even if it doesn't i have a Q9450 to put on there.:)

Hopefully it will work, i don,t see any bad caps on the board. If it does it will b £5 well spent. :)

I can,t edit it now, as, the edit is no longer on there.
Bottom left of the post, there is the "Report" link.

Just report the post and ask if the moderator will delete the non-responsive picture links.

I originally tried to get them to allow me to edit posts in this thread, however, it couldn't be allowed without being a moderator. They can't give permissions for just moderating a single forum thread, I guess.

Currently installing Win2000 on a Pentium M/Radeon 9200M laptop, I had it already but I mostly just tested does it work and are there drivers, worked flawlessly. The test drive was a slow 4200rpm one though so I'm putting it to a faster drive (Seagate 80GB 7200rpm). I just hate that 2000 doesn't have a quick format in its setup so this takes LONG.

Always liked 2000 more than XP so downgrading is something I prefer.

I have. Win2k runs a bit leaner and cleaner than XP. There's also no activation nonsense. With ServicePack4 and DirectX9c, Win2k is a very solid retro gaming OS. 99% of all XP drivers work with Win2k.
