Yeah, good point there. Though usually when I buy something online (or second hand), I usually know what I'm getting so it's a pretty rare scenario that I'll be disappointed of my purchase

But sometimes surprises happen when buying something uncommon in both negative and positive ways etc
But with CEX you don,t know what will turn up one example is a GPU it could be 760 but it could be any version of it..

Exactly. Even though I live in mainland Europe, CEX has got familiar as I watch RandomGaminginHD and Steve gets stuff from there from time to time..

ASRock really do be smokin' good kush when they made this thing. P4Dual-915GL, shame the PCI-E is only 4x, but I do wonder if that isn't a limitation of the 915GL chipset? Fairly sure they would have been able to get both AGP and PCI-E x16 if they tried.

(btw yes, that GPU I tested it with is definitely a Radeon HD7850 2GB GDDR5 )

IIs there any differance in perstomance in a cooler that has the fan facing up in the case 728.to one facing sidewaks 465.?
It seems most modern PC builds have the 465 ones.Dose anyone use a Snowman cooler ?it seems they are very populer all though they are cheap.
Along with Phil .Brain is my fav Aussia you tubers:) 3 pin or 4 pin on a CPU Fan?o_OI wish there were some viedos on the 728 version. o_O

The Intel implementation really did good for them - you don't see a HD7850 or a 7950 running on a 478 every day heh

I bet this would shine with a N-Wood HT than a Prescott. I imagine Gallatin isn't too far off from Prescott heat-wise?

Actually the difference is barely noticable, 1-2 Celcius more because of the L3 cache.:peace:

I remember best the legendary 939Dual-SATA2. My friend had a 8800 GT with his A64 3700+ when his 6800 GT AGP broke. :D

Not really far off running a 8800 on a 939... one of my builds is a A64 x2 4600+ Manchester + 8800GTX 768MB from Leadtek :D. That one's sporting a DFI Infinity nF4 SLi mobo though.
I do have something slightly close to a 8800GT, a Quadro FX 3700.

Aside from that, I also have "bragging rights" (jk lol) for owning the world's most useless 360 revision - an unmoddable Xenon . No HDMI, just plain ole' AV port to output component off.
At that point, the only thing missing is one of those 2005-06 era 37 inch Samsung LCD TVs

One question tho - knowing ASRock does the impossible - wasn't the 915GL an iGP only variant of the 915 itself? (like the 845GL and 865GV were, for the most part (not all 865GV were AGP-less, ASRock and Biostar being perfect examples of that!))

What once looked like two Geforce in a dire need of repair, now looks like two new additions to my GPU collection.

Top: ASUS GTS250 1GB DDR3
Bottom: Gigabyte Geforce 9800GT 1GB GV-N98TSL-1GI.

I'll admit, the GB was originally meant to be silent, but I wouldn't run a 9800GT passively cooled at all, even if it's the biggest and meanest block of copper. The cooler that's on it is originally from a ASUS 9800GT that had corroded traces near the PCI-E goldfinger (and no, I could not save it, unfortunately.)

My GPU collection so far, collected over the past 3-4 months. All of them working, some of them are in pristine condition.

  • eVGA GeForce 8800GTX, even had the protective plastic film on it. ~10$
original_489bfe80-f64e-44d2-a7cc-c1823132e5e3_2023-07-18-20-59-38-209.jpg

  • MSI GeForce 8800GT, looking cool without the decals IMO. ~8$
2023-07-18-21-00-27-403.jpg

  • Gainward GeForce 8800GTS 512MB, ~25$
2023-07-18-21-01-08-199.jpg

  • nVidia GeForce GTX280 1GB. Some scuffs on the shroud but OK condition. VRAM OCs to 1377MHz without any voltage adjustments, seems very good from what I could see. Fan needs replacement bearings. ~15$
2023-07-18-21-02-02-593.jpg

  • BFG GeForce GTX285 1GB, pristine condition without any scratches. ~25$
2023-07-18-21-03-31-725.jpg

  • ATI Radeon X1950XTX 512MB. Pristine condition, but the fan needs new bearings. ~40$ (more than I was willing to pay, but I rarely see it posted for sale)
2023-05-12-17-51-54-776.jpg

  • ATI Radeon All-in-Wonder X800XL 256MB. Came with the original box and all included items. Fan could use some TLC. ~28$
2023-07-18-20-58-41-022.jpg

  • PowerColor PCS+ Radeon HD4870 1GB. Fan is a bit loud on certain RPM and not serviceable sigh. ~15$
2023-07-18-20-57-43-529.jpg

Ordering ball bearings for the fans next month, hopefully it will fix the noise on some of these.

Technically my GTS250 should need some bike oil for the bearings, as it feels kinda stiff when spinning (can't really put it into words but it's not fluid nor seized either) but I'll probably postpone that until I can get some fresh MX6.

I really wanna see if it's a good replacement for a power-hungry HD4870, by any chance.

8MB is more than enough. I have a spare genuine Sony card for that usage and it still has about half free even after putting it as a FreeMcBoot card.

I wouldn't touch those third-party cards no matter what. I have no idea why they are on cards like that.

Maybe a 8MB third-party card is fine, but as I had a spare card, I made a FreeMcBoot card myself.

Nah.. I just don't trust those unstandard-sized cards. I remember as a kid my friend having such a card for PS1 (it had changeable "pages") and from time to time, one random savefile got corrupted.

Nah.. I just don't trust those unstandard-sized cards. I remember as a kid my friend having such a card for PS1 (it had changeable "pages") and from time to time, one random savefile got corrupted.
I asked the question on another rival forum that i am on ,and this is what they said.*A normal 8mb card is all you need but it leaves little space over so you have limited space for saves which is probably why people want a bigger card so they don't have to use up both card slots.*So i will take your addvice and get a 8mb one. :)So what size should i get for a memory card to save the games? o_O I value your information.:)
