I take it you haven't done this lately, no wonder
Zombies been sneaky lately.

But it was more a tongue in cheek reference to how people use to gauge PSU quality...

Chinas been "going to conquer taiwan next month" since the 90s people.

Same with NK threatienng to level Seoul...

I'm not saying it isn't a threat but perhaps it's more nuanced than something unavoidable.

It cost 50%more ok. At the end we Are Talking about what 1$ 2$ More per chip, that is alot or it can be absorbed bye the end price of the product. Nobody compares how much it cost a gallon of water in USA instead of Hong Kong. This is the water for the industry we cannot wait to be independent or at least less dependent.

Local electronic manufacturers must buy locally for at least 50% to help local industry to grow and in the future be less expensive

Taiwan is one of the most wealthy countries in Asia, largely due to things like TSMC. Not sure where the sweatshop allegations are coming from...
First of all I was using hyperbole. Second, Being a wealthy country in Asia doesn’t mean salaries are commensurate with USA labor. There’s not a guarantee of making six figures plus.

Chip manufacturing jobs in the us at least at intel plants will be six figures for many employees as intel announced for its upcoming Ohio plant.

Based on the info I could find, similar fab salaries in Taiwan at TSMC are around 75K per year which is good. But less than what they would be in the USA. There’s a reason why so many companies outsourced labor of manufacturing and assembly to Asia. They rather pay less for labor and pay shipping to import the product rather than build it in the USA at USA labor prices. Of course the supply chain disruptions and rising inflation and shipping costs might very well upend that strategy, we will see.

Some, not most. However, most will be in the generous 5 figures range($70k+), which is still a good living for most.
