Shipping to Europe could be a reason. New York is by the Atlantic. I am sure they worked out a tax break to manufacturer in NY.

Its got to be a tax break. Houston's port is also huge and jobs/people/taxes are all better there.

Freight overseas to Houston is more than California. There has to be a reason for the east coast.
