Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers for Windows 11 (Dolby Digital Live/DTS Interactive)

im not speaking of the hieght channels how is the overall quality of audio with a soundbar compaired to bookshelf speakers like fedelity quality audio pureness how hifi is a soundbar idk how many more buzz words i can use
The only difference I noticed when switching from tower speakers to soundbar was the sound power, as tower speakers have more power in the speaker noise than the soundbar. Now, quality wise, I notice that the soundbar is more pure and crystal clear, but remember that I bought the highest range of Samsung soundbars, because if you buy lower end models, you will most likely hear the sound very poor. Apart from that, the soundbar makes everything easier for me, I no longer need long cables of several meters. You could say that the soundbar is perfect for a room where the walls of the room make the sound bounce in all directions and tower speakers are perfect for large rooms where you don’t need the sound to bounce. The only bad thing about my tower speakers is that they don’t have atmos speakers, instead the soundbars already come with atmos and dts x.

Its better than not having it I suppose, still the bounce would normally be delayed, not sure you would notice, the speaker could play slightly earlier but any direct audio would be too quick.

The audio delays are logical and obviously if I select atmos or dts X the latency increases a bit, but thanks to the method of using a stereo audio mix to keep the audio active and not inactive makes it so that I do not experience cuts or interruptions, also the method of eliminating the latencies of the nvidia audio driver means that I do not experience latency apart from the fact that now I connect my PC directly to my sound bar and from the sound bar directly to the TV and in the TV menu I enable the direct audio pass-through mode in this way the TV no longer encodes anything but this time lets the uncompressed audio pass directly to the receiver. PC -> HDMI-AUDIO -> SOUND BAR -> TV

I haven't noticed any audio delay bouncing off the ceiling into my ears

yee lel it can ither simulate a full surround system or just heigts if your system has physical surround channels its a really nice experince as its why i got a 5.1 atmos system as its like a more enhanced take on 5.1 so i get more than most do for not more money than most would pay for a system like this

my only issue is i get no upmixer just surround stereo which sucks as i do enjoy matrix upmixers

Hi guys. I have been using the unlocked drivers for 5 years or so (outputting via spdif), but sometime during the last 7-10 days, surround in games no longer work.
I can still choose DDL and DTS interactive, but games simply do not output 5.1 anymoreonly stereo. Anyone else experience this? I am on win 10.

thats due to the game haveing a object baced audio engine sometimes this breaks with dolby digital live and dts interactive cause they have to fold down the objects to multichannel instead of the game doing that and then outputting to lpcm or pcm download fxsound from the microsoft store its a sound enhancement system but for some reason when i used dolby digital live with it object baced games like halo infinite and overwatch 2 were working only isssue is if i diddnt use fx sound those 2 games wouldnt use my rears at all

Thanks, but it is now broken for all games, including a lot that worked fine previously.
If it matters I have an Asus X570 Prime pro mobo

again please use the microsoft store application fxsound if u tryed that and now its not working for any games make sure u set fxsound to 5.1 in windows device settings (fxsound is a daw digital audio workstation) if that still dose not work u may have to try other solutions

also side not turns out i do have matrix upmixers in my soundbar just dolby mat was overrideing theme

Turn out my problem was actually two problems, which made it a bit more time consuming to narrow down, but:
1: I had to reinstall the driver several times. Installing the latest driver from ASUS (with patched dll) made surround work in "normal" games.
2: Alan Wake 2 seems to be one of those games that just won't work with DDL or DTSi. Fxsound fixed this issue, so thanks for the help!

of course it was the only solution for me that worked in halo infinite overwatch 2 resident evil 2 3 and 4 remakes that worked

I have a Asrock X870 RS Pro Wifi and I'm using the S/PDIF port, Realtek Digital Output, to a Yamaha 5.1 receiver.

I have Windows 11 Pro.

The on board sound spec is, "7.1 CH HD Audio with Content Protection (Realtek ALC1220 Audio Codec)"

DTS and DD don't show up in the choices under System > Sound > Properties > Output Settings > Format, only 2 channel options.

I tried the steps in the OP to patch the drivers from the motherboard website, but DTS & DD still aren't showing up.

If I go to Sound and select Realtek Digital Output, the "Configure" button isn't clickable, though Properties > Supported Formats > Encoded Formats, DTS & DD are checked and I will hear tones on all 5 speakers plus the sub when I Test them.

The Realtek Audio Console doesn't give me a way to configure the speakers either.

Has anyone gotten DTS or DD working on this motherboard or this audio codec?

Let me know if you want more details.

Thank in advance!
