No that's a terrible idea lol, 7700X would still absolutely roll a 6950X in just about everything even if you underclocked it and forced it to use JEDEC RAM

Are we trolling here?

the 6950X is an 10 core versus 8 for the 7700X, the 6950 also use 4 channel vs 2 for the 7700X and games love to have more ram bandwidth.

what wrong with what i said ? English isn't my native language

the 6950X seem to be quite a bit slower than the 14900k and is a bit below the 12700k even with the best ram and oc, maybe i should pick the 14900k, but i will have to buy a new motherboard

That's not how either single core nor multi core performance works, if it was then a Sandy Bridge Xeon E5 would be literally unbeatable

Don't examine RAM performance in a vacuum. In the vast majority of even memory intensive workloads (if not all), it still serves to support CPU perf. An ancient CPU is still an ancient CPU.

Yes after three gens and mre CPU get too old to beat price and usage of newers, always and all, no exception.

My 7800x3d in 2030+ will do so crappy work that one rendered frame will cost me more electricity that one minute of gaming with latest CPU equivalent (like 17800x3d).

Feel free to do so, but keep your previous parts. This might make a good retro build experience.

Pick up a couple GTX 1080 at the same time too, because two surely beats one. ;)

No, what you would be doing then is downgrading and going to a i14 series is a mistake as well, keep what you have, otherwise sell it on here, there are plenty who would take that cpu off your hands.

The strangest thing here is, 7700x is AMD, 6950x an Intel, and then he says he won't get a 14000 (intel) without changing MB !!!

two 1080 beat the rtx 4090 ? probably, but the 1080 only have 8 go of ram, maybe i should do 2 rtx titan or 1080 ti . the 4090 is still good enough for me.

the 6950x is almost as good as an 17 12700k,

i probably will pick an 14900k and be done with it,or wait for the next lake. i was aksing because the 6950X is only 200$ on ebay

the 14900k take to much current for my taste,

I had a 6900k and a 3700x steamrolled it on everything. More cores does NOT mean better performance nor do games care about bandwidth that much when the Broadwell is ancient.

And SLI? Really? You're just trolling right?

That's not even a solid choice until Intel drops the new microcode for voltage fixes. Sit down and wait and quit this nonsense.

7800x3d is the best, i told you what my CPU will be in 2030+ !! Read post 2 or 3 or 4, can't remember, i answered that.

Now i'd tell again, buy a PS6, it's near to be ready.

Also you didn't list the CPU limited games you talk, bc 7700x is one year's best CPU gamers like linked in my answer (TPU lnk)
